Lexmark x4270 Alignment Problem

It prints with text overlapping, so I tried an alignment. However it prints, but then I get a "there's a problem with the printer" and it says to remove tape from cartridges. I reinstalled the driver, checked for anything that could be obstructing the cartridges, but still nothing.
The printer was fine a week ago, nothing has happened since then.
The alignment that gets printed is attached. Notice the red squares. At times they are yellow.
Any help is appreciated.

    No change.
I tried printing an alignment again, it came out with the same error and the page this time showed up with yellow squares instead of the red squares you see in my previously attached image.

Text alignment is off sometimes. It seems like it printed the same text but a half inch to the right or left.

When you say you checked to see if anything is obstructing the cartridge, please also make sure the clear tape/tab on the cartridge head was completely removed before use.
If you put another head in, does it work? Sometimes the cartridges are bad, if they have been exposed to extreme temperatures.
A fragment of the protection tab would explain the error as well as the printout, as you don't seem to have any yellow at all.
Hope this helps.

Why are the colors on printouts not overlapping?

You probably need to run an alignment procedure. See the link below.

X4270 won't copy after replacing black cartridge. It did run an alignment page, however.

Try this approach:
  1. On the printer operator panel, on Copy mode, press Options.
  2. Select Maintenance.
  3. Select Clean Cartridges
Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
Try to print your document again to verify that Copying is properly functioning now.

Print cartridge alignment failed.

Check the following steps :

Double-click the HP printer icon in the system tray at the lower right end of your desktop. Navigate to the "Toolbox" tab.

Click on the "Status" link on the left side of the window. Scroll through the "Status" menu and click on the "Print Info Pages" link.

Click the blue "Print" button located to the right of the "Configuration Page" heading. Check the print page to see if the "L" shaped bars are overlapping or bleed into each other.

Contact HP directly for a repair or replacement if the "L" bars do not have any overlap, as that will indicate an extensive mechanical problem that can't be fixed through troubleshooting.

Return to the "Toolbax" tab if the color bars are overlapping. Click on the model number of your HP color laser printer at the upper left end of the window. Click on the "Device Settings" link.

Choose the "Print Quality" option and then click on the "Calibrate" button on the right side of the window. Click "OK" in the new window that appears and wait for the alignment calibration process to finish.

Attempt to print a document again and see if the alignment is still off. If the alignment is not correct, repeat the calibrating, since the HP color laser printer may need to be calibrated more than once to fix the alignment.

Each line of text is printing multiple times, lines overlap, and printing

Hello. That's an alignment problem in the printer. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Close the cover. Clean the nozzles using a damp paper towel. But, if it's possible, try to use new cartridges. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug it back in after 10-15 seconds. When the printer's ready, re-insert the cartridges. Let it print an alignment page all the way through.

On printing the text overlaps and is unreadable.

Go to Settings and do a Print Head Alignment, you may have to do it a couple of times. Open the printer and check movement while it's printing.
