Go to function and change pic size to wide or it shows a w -then you will see in main menu highlight of time and date stamp-canon can only do date and/or time in a certain size pic-rember it's a lower quality resolution than normal-change pic size first at bottom of function menu then go to main menu

This function can only be set in Postcard mode- Press Func., scroll down to the bottom, then across to the mountains with clock icon, then set. Now press menu, scroll down to date, and set date or date and time, then menu again.

I am trying to add the date/time stamp so that it appears on the picture and can't seem to do this.I have the Cannon Power Shot A560

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

My powershot a560 will not show the picture i want to take ,its just a black screen but when i take the picture it then will show me it help please

Don't fret, there's nothing wrong. You just accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns your screen on and off to save batteries. Press it once more to turn it back on.
