Make sure that the graphic card is made for VISTA. If so, make sure that you use only the driver for VISTA, and any other software and driver from any other card is uninstalled.

HP a6750f monitor goes to sleep without warning right in the middle of something. Disc also sleeps sometimes (I hear it wind down) but blue light still on cpu, no yellow. Was running Vista, which problem...

Well FIRST take it back and make that "Repairman" work on the problem until solved at NO extra fee. What has been done is NOT professional. Had you come to my shop, this wouldn't have happened and if it did, it would be remedied without cost, and would be worked upon until fixed. The same must apply here. You paid good money for a FIX NOT OS replacement I suspect you have a faulty component, maybe Video card maybe WiFi card etc. Please do NOT accept a run around. Try the "Honey"approach first, then "Vinegar"... if, you get any BS, from them/Him. I am sorry on behalf of us professionals.

Blue screen - Memmory_Management

You have the blue screen of death unless you have tweaked your PC to stop without restart it is difficult to read the error.

Did you upgrade from a x86 (32bit) ot x64 (64bit) version of Windows XP or Vista?

Windows (5) XP to Windows 7 - wet7xp_x86.exe

Windows (6) Vista to Windows 7 - Windows6.0-KB928635-x86.msu

Did you run the Windows7UpgradeAdvisor first ?

There maybe Memory Issues with your PC using Windows 7 especailly your Video Card Memory , it a good idea to check you motherboard for memory compatibilty some Motherboards wont take High Density Memory with Windows 7, check here at Crucial Scanner

If you post your HTML result of the Windows 7 upgrade checker to this post I maybe be able to help you further.

If all this fails I suggest that you do a complete install of Windows 7 unless you just have the upgrade pack, please check that you are using the correct version for your PC either 32bit or 64bit as shown above.

Hello there. Ok. So i baught this video graphics card( geforce 8400gs) for dual screen purposes. Im running on windows Vista. I installed and loaded cd/dvd as instructed but no go. The video card has...

Hi,

I encountered this problem, I do not believe it is a BIOS issue.
You should be able to go to My Computer, right click on it, go to device manager, and disable the onboard Graphics Adapter.
That being done your new video card should function without issue. Now for the DUal Screen issue,, Vista has a cute little feature where if it is a "basic" and not a "premium" version of Vista, it does not support multiple monitors.
I went back to XP with a bullet when I figured that out after hours of troubleshooting my video card

I hope this helps!!

Jim.

I cannot install OS winxp onto sata drive pc is Acer aspire x3200

Hi,
There could be two reasons for the blue screen either a bad harddrive or loose memory cards in the slots. Try reseating the memory cards on the motherboard.
Also please post back the Stop code you are getting on the blue screen

Thanks for using Fixya

Hi I got some new SDRAM cards and put all of them

Each pair of ram stick go in the same color slot (2 x 1 GB in green for example) then the 2 x 512MB go in the other slots (may be pink)
you also need to make sure that your motherboard supports more than 2GB

Installation problem with vista

Do you have an onboard graphic slot too . you could remove the XFX card for now . Install all other drivers on Vista first and then try your card again. Just try and single out the problem. Does the driver cd come with vista drivers ???

Check page 2-19 section 2.5.6 of your manual. Also
Page 2-32
If this is all correct than swap known good card to second-PEG unsued slot. You could have a bad video card or SLI cable.
