Question about Cameras
Unfortunately your have experienced what is probably the number one error with these small point and shoot digital cameras. Only a small percentage of lens errors can be resolved on their own, such as by restarting your camera. If that doesn't work then the camera will have to be sent into the service center for repair.
Call Canon Tech Support at 1-800-828-4040 for your service options. If you are within your one year warranty and the lens error is through no fault of your own, then it will be repaired at no cost and returned to you within three weeks of mailing.
If the camera is out of warranty, or the lens error is due eto liquid, sand, or impact damage, then you would incur a repair cost. Call and see what your options are.
