Question about HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
For some reason the installation will not complete properly. I can install the printer software, but only if I do not follow the instructions which specifically say if the PC gives "New Hardware Detected" you are to click the cancel button It says you should only use the HP install detection. Restart and try the install again. I have done this many times with the same result, "New Hardware Detected" comes up and the HP install does not detect it. So if I use the Windows hardware detection I can install printer software but thats all that works. No Scanning/Imaging software is installed. I have used both the CD and the downloaded version of the software, with both results being different types of failure. CD begins but gets to the point where it says add a device or install more software. Adding a device tries to detect new printer but doesn't then goes away, Install more software inspect the system then gives choices of uninstall or Add a Device which if you try it this way fails also. I have tried to use the HP All-in-One Check to analyze whether up to date software is installed so it would detect what is missing and install it but it analyzes forever saying analyzing this will take a few seconds. I have chatted with the "geniuses" at HP support with no help at all. Maybe someone here can help with some
Thank you to anyone who can help
