After powering unit off and disconnecting battery & waiting two min's, no help, same result. Also after removing and reinstalling CPU same result as well. Appears not to boot up at all, even though you can hear the hard drive spinning up in the beginning. LED for hard drive comes on solid for about 20 to 30 sec's and then goes out, still no response from the monitor except when unit initially powers on. The monitor shows it's own internal self test message only at the time when the computer is powered on then goes back off again within a few moments. It has tested fine on another computer.

The usual problem with connecting a flat screen after you have used CRT's is that your resolution is to high for the flat screen-connecting it to another screen and bringing your resolution down to 640x480 and then connecting your flat ,most of the time sorts out your problem. You can then try to up your resolution to a workable resolution.1024x768 works fine.Regards

Hi. Were you able to see the the DELL post screen when you turn on the computer? Take out the battery and unplugged the power adapter from your computer and to the wall socket. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs. Put everything back in then turn on the computer.

Yup. it is possible your hard drive is messed up but have you tried to check you memory card? Try to clean it using a clean cloth, rub the pins, and also blow the memory slots. Video card can may also be the cause. Just do same step as memory card.

Hp530 Ultra Slim starts and stop after 3-20sec

I have had this once before, and then it was one of the hard disk cables which was interfering with the fans inside the case. In my PC it was the PSU fan which was being halted. Try moving the cables around inside the case and ensure none of the corners where they are folded are protruding into any of the fans.

Emachines 1900+ gets power to the monitor and computer but wont boot

There could be a number of causes. Do you hear any beeps when the computer starts up? Try seating all the chips in the motherboard. That means, apply pressure to each individual chip on the motherboard with your finger or thumb. The goal is to make sure each chip is securely attached to the board. Sometimes, heat or new h/w installs partially "pop" some of the chips out of the motherboard - causing the circuitry to be disconnected...
