Turn on the pc and the blue lite dosen come on all the cooling fans turn on but nothing else.

That machine is having fault coming from your VGA test the system with an external monitor first and follow the CRT/LCD key by pressing down your Fn key down and press the carrying the CRT/LCD key to switch the screen to the monitor so try that and if nothing is showing then you will have to change the VGA on your system or probably if its on the motherboard you will have to change the board completely thanks

Computer in safe mode and monitor will go to sleep mode....help what can I do...my husband tried everything....

First, Shotdown your computer from start ,
then remove your computer power, remove VGA cable, remove VGA power cable. then
1- connect vga cable to computer.
2- connect VGA power but do not power on.
3- connect computer power on but do not turn on
4- turn on computer first and 3 second turn on your lcd.

if NOT try powering on computer then Monitor then power the computer then monitor.
IF NONE worked, YOU may have LCD that need drivers from manufacturing, some newer models required that, Specially for vista. You may use older Monitor to get drivers to computer and extracted, then you may connected, you will have solved the problem.
Goodluck

I have just installed a Acer LCD #X223W moniter. What do I need to do to get my speakers to work with it? Is there a missing port or do I need a new cable. This moniter has a HDVi cable but the Computer...

Did you give the correct model of the Acer monitor you have?

When I looked up the X223W monitor, I see a monitor with a DVI-D port and VGA port. Only the VGA cable is usually included in the box. If your computer has a VGA port (most older computers that came with only the video chip on the motherboard), you can either use the VGA cable or get a VGA to DVI adapter and use a DVI-D cable (purchase separately). Alternatively, check the specs of your power supply and available card slots and buy a new video card with a DVI port. If you have only a DVI port on your computer, get the DVI cable (the VGA to DVI adapter would work but isn't a good option).

If I read the specs correctly, this monitor doesn't have speakers. You should plug your speakers into the audio out of your computer. If you use the on-board audio you will see at least two jacks (microphone/line in) and audio out (speakers). Many audio cards and some motherboards come with additional jacks for surround sound so check your system information. Audio extension cables are a cheap solution if the speaker cables are too short to reach to your computer.

I hope this helps.

New HP PC won't show up on monitor

So the problem there is your VGA adapter. Try installing a Graphics card in your motherboard. Check the type of graphics card slot whether it is a VGA or PCI Express slot. Hope this helps.

Laptop comes on but monitor remains black

Hello,

IT could be one of two things. First make sure that you have the laptop set to display on the LCD. Most laptops will have a Function key labeled by Fn then you will need to look at the function keys at the top F1-F12 and find the one that either says CRT/LCD or has a picture of a screen or monitor. Then, after you have found that key, you will need to press and hold the Fn key and tap the appropriate function key, this will alternate between the LCD (laptop) and CRT (monitor). If you have trouble finding the correct key combination for switching displays should be listed in the manual.

If that doesn't correct it, then I would try locating a desktop CRT and connecting it to the monitor connection on the rear of the laptop and again pressing the keys to switch between CRT/LCD. If it shows on the CRT then I would say that the LCD on the laptop is bad.

Thanks

is this an lcd flat panel monitor or a crt? if it is a flat panel then you may be dealing with blown capacitors on the vga board inside. they can be replaced therby repairing the monitor. if it is a crt then just recycle it and buy a newer lcd monitor to replace this old one.

My toshiba satellite pro 4600 laptop display screen,,, ummm...accidentally broke.I have a extra home pc monitor,Does my laptop support an external monitor? If so,can i just plug it in and windows will...

It should support it.

If your laptop has a VGA output, connect the VGA cable from that to VGA input on monitor. Then hold down the function (Fn) key and press one of your F2 or F3 or whatever F# keys that has a pic of a monitor on it or it will say lcd/crt in blue lettering on it.
