Question about Panasonic KV S2026C Path-Through Scanner
While documents were scanning, I would get the message "unable to set extended settings:unsupported capability (V9.1924).I would have to shut the entire program down and restart the scanning process. Now the red error light stays on and I get the same message. I can't scan anything. Please help

LET ME ASK A FEW MORE DETAILS ABOUT THIS:
1. DID YOU GOT ANY ERROR MESSAGE ON YOUR DESKTOP OR LAPTOP?
2. WHAT OS OPERATING SYSTEM IS CURRENTLY INSTALLED AND YOUR ARE USING RIGHT NOW..?
3. HAVE YOU INSTALLED THE SCANNER DRIVER ON YOUR PC?
4. DO YOU CHECK IF ALL THE CABLE CONNECTION FROM THE SCANNER TO THE PC ARE PROPERLY HOOKED UP AND ALSO CHECK THE POWER SOURCE.?
KINDLY POST ME BACK HERE ABOUT THIS, AND SOME ADD INFO YOU INPUT WILL DO..
KEEP US UPDATED.

CHECK THE GLASS for a scratch.. i have one on mine from a staple sneaking through and it now puts a permanant line on all documents....OR it could be a piece of gook on the glass

On the CD that came with the scanner is a directory called "Shading Utility". Copy this folder to your PC. Put a blank piece of copy paper into your scanner. Open up the Shading Utility folder and then double-click on the shadingutility.exe. The password is "GOSHADING" without the quotes. This process will take a few minutes but it will re-align the lens in the scanner which has gotten out of alignment through vibration. This is what is causing the vertical black line on the left side of the page.
