I want to know if I can hook up a second monitor to this system?

The HP Pavilion a450n video card does not support 2 monitors. You can hook up a monitor and a TV at the same with the current video card it has. If you wanted 2 monitors you can replace the AGP video card with a new one that has 2 monitor outputs. You will need to get an AGP video card with 2 monitor outputs (DVI or VGA), open up the case, remove the current video card and replace it.
See the HP website for more technical information on this computer:

I hope this helps.

My model : Samsung SyncMaster 940bw After change of setting, I am getting images which are not clear and crisp and having less colour content

Good Morning!
One thing that I have noticed when I change settings on my monitor is that sometimes it needs to be re-aligned. Thankfully this is very easy to do. There is a button on the bottom right of the screen that says "Auto". dantheman286.png
Press this button and you should see the screen shift and become sharper.
If this does not work, you may want to change the monitor back to the default settings. You can do this by navigating through the menu: Press the Menu Button -> Select "Setup" from the on-screen menu -> And then separately select "Image Reset" and "Color Reset".
Please feel free to comment back if this does not solve your problem.
Thanks!

I have a samsung syncmaster 940bw the other day while using it while surfing the web the screen went white and i cant seem to be get access to the menu on it

The screen went white can be due to failed T-CON board or failed power supply, I would inspect the power supply and the ribbon cable between the logic board and the LCD panel.

My LCM-22w2 monitor will now rarely start up. It powers up white-screen and won't do anything. Occasionally it powers up OK and works fine.

wford451, You should open up the unit and inspect the "switch-mode-power-supply"/"CCFL inverter supply" printed circuit board for the common 2 problems that create symptoms like yours. Do some reading in my and other CCFL back-lit lcd monitor technicians fixya profiles. They are loaded with solutions to fix your unit. Your LCM 22W2 is no different than any other brand in it's basic design and operation!!! 12fixlouie

I have a dell Dimension 2300 and the images are very dark. I don't think it is from the monitor.

Try these steps: 1. Check the monitor settings. Access the On Screen Display (OSD) Menu System. Adjust the contrast and brightness using the control buttons in the monitor.
2. Run the monitor self test. Unplug the video cable from the computer (cable from monitor to the back of the computer). Usually it has a blue or white connector. Turn on the monitor alone. It should display the self test pattern (white, red, green & blue). If the images are dark in the self test, it is a problem with the monitor.
2. Rotate the monitor to face a different direction. This will help in eliminating sunlight glare which can cause poor picture quality.
3. Test your computer using another working monitor. If the problem occurs in a known good monitor, then it is a video card or motherboard (if your video card is integrated) problem.
I hope these options help.

Screen returned from supplier background bright pink, how do I change to white background.

To check if the video card or the Sharp LCD monitor is faulty, connect a different monitor to the computer. If this monitor displays a normal image then the video card is OK and the Sharp LCD monitor's back-light is faulty. Send it back to the supplier to have it fixed (they should not have reurned it to you in this condition).
If the other monitor also displays a bright pink background then the video card is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Samsung GH19LS LCD Monitor wont display computer signals

You should have received two cables with the monitor. One is for VGA and plugs into you video card or computer board . The second one is for DVI digidal video and if you have that cable it plugs into the square connector. Then if you look into your monitor manual or quick setup sheet it will tell you how to connect and set the monitor to either VGA or Digital. I'm sure that is what has to be set. Don't hook up both cables to the monitor and computer. Only use the one. Digital gives you a better picture if your computer has that function. Hope this is helpful. Bud
