I need to reset the thermal reset button. I have never opened by back pack vacuum before. Does it have a particular color and does it have to be reset to a particular point or do I just press a button?

I have never opened by back pack vacuum before. Does it have a particular color and does it have to be reset to a particular point or do I just press a button? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Eureka / Sanitaire SC412 Thermal Reset. I would contact the manufacturer to see if your particular model # has one, just give them the model # and the serial #. So I suggest that you get an owner’s manual from the manufacturer on you particular model so that if happens again, you will be prepared. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.eureka.comCustomer Service 1-800-282-2886 Customer Service Dept for U.S. Electrolux Home Care Products P.O. The Eureka Whirlwind 4489 uses style U belts, and you can find the Belt Package Assembly- Style U 2pk at the following link: http://www.vacpartswarehouse.com/Eureka-Electrolux-Sanitaire-Belt-U-Style-2-pack-p/61120.htm
The broken belt usually stays trapped within the housing, so when you remove the necessary pieces in order to access the beater bar, you should find the remnants of the original belt, which you could also use to determine the size you need for a new belt. You might even get lucky and find that the belt itself is ok, but had gotten derailed somehow! Also good to remember is that there is often a second belt sealed within the packaging and instruction manual, so you may already have a spare belt on hand if you stashed the owner's manual somewhere.
Hope that helps! Please rate as helpful if so :) Thanks!
Does there seem to be good air-flow and suction? If not, look for a blockage somewhere. Otherwise (and more likely because of what you say about the sound), look to the brush roller. Does it rotate when the machine's switched on? If so, maybe the bristles are worn and no longer make contact with the carpet properly. If not, the belt that drives the brush roller is broken and must be replaced. Your Owner Manual will tell you how to do this. Good luck!

Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Sanitaire is a Eureka either a household or commercial vacuum and the plastic fan blade will push on but the fan pulley I believe is a clockwise and you tighten down with a wrench, there is only one way the fan pulley will screw on so you can make a mistake, if you have questions please feel free to contact your local vac dealer.
