Question about Video Game Consoles & Games
I made a simple project of getting the gameport buttons to move a stepper motor connectted to an IO card ,few years ago.Had used vbio.dll and mscomm control.
Present requirement is to replace the gameport joystick with a USB version gamepad. I need to get the values of buttons pressed on the game pad, and use them in my Visual basic software to turn the stepper motors. It might be possible by using some dll file or anything else.
Shall be greatful for the help.
You could try sending logitech an email..they would be the best people to help you..

Go to control panel, under gaming controllers, it looks like a gaming controller, click it and configure the controller using the onscreen instructions

SOURCE: gamepad to usb adapters?
The adapter is out there. I happened upon one a while back, and got a nice joystick to work with it (win2k).
I can't seem to get my gamepad pro grip to work though. I think I may have bad controllers.

Make sure you get the latest drivers for your soundcard. The drivers will include the software for the joystick port so its recognized properly by windows. Also you may want to go to the support page for your soundcard to see if any settings would need to be changed as well.
