Want to get usb gamepad button signals in Visual basic

I made a simple project of getting the gameport buttons to move a stepper motor connectted to an IO card ,few years ago.Had used vbio.dll and mscomm control.

Present requirement is to replace the gameport joystick with a USB version gamepad. I need to get the values of buttons pressed on the game pad, and use them in my Visual basic software to turn the stepper motors. It might be possible by using some dll file or anything else.

Shall be greatful for the help.

SOURCE: gamepad to usb adapters?

The adapter is out there. I happened upon one a while back, and got a nice joystick to work with it (win2k).

I can't seem to get my gamepad pro grip to work though. I think I may have bad controllers.

Make sure you get the latest drivers for your soundcard. The drivers will include the software for the joystick port so its recognized properly by windows. Also you may want to go to the support page for your soundcard to see if any settings would need to be changed as well.

Gas gauge not working

The needle is attached to a stepper motor that receives information from the car's computer. If the motor starts to go bad, it will only move some of the time when the computer tells it to move, which can lead to it pointing in all sorts of weird directions.

In order to replace the stepper motor, you need to pull off the dashboard, remove the whole instrument cluster (which houses the speedometer, tachometer, oil gauge, etc), crack that open, desolder the motor from the circuit board, and solder a new one in it's place.

It's not that hard to do, really, but you if you screw things up you'll have to buy a new instrument cluster (or live without a gas guage, which you're basically doing anyway).

You should be able to buy a stepper motor for under $5. Just be sure it's the right kind for your car, since stepper motors come in all shapes & sizes.

When player black ops on xbox the controllers left stick moves the player down instead of up. how can I change this back when I want to move up I push up.

1-try rettting COD's control layout back to default...you might have changed the layout 2-is this problem happening in other games as well? if it does, then we can consider taking the controller for repair 3-there is always ebay and amazon to get you a new controller 4-do you have a wireless or usb adapter to connect the xbox controller to the pc? in windows 7 you can use the gamepad as a gamepad and in "callibration settings" you can test the buttons
go get those killstreaks!

How to disable command button in visual basic

  • tep 1 Open Visual Basic and select "Standard Exe" to create a new project.
  • Step 2 Add a button by clicking the square button tool on the right, and then clicking and dragging in the main window.
  • Step 3 Click the button once to open the "Properties" window on the right. Select the "(Name)" property, and type "myCmdButton" as the name.
  • Step 4 Double-click the button to open up the code-view window. Type the following in the white space under "Private Sub myCmdButton_Click()":
    myCmdButton.enabled = False;
  • Step 5 Click the blue "Run" button on the top toolbar of Visual Basic. Because you set enabled to "false" in the previous step, you will see your button grayed out, and nothing will happen when you click it.

My logitec dual action controllers fail intermittently

Yup, the USB connection is not secure. Its either your gamepad's wire or your PC's USB port itself. Try using other USB ports. If still the same problem you might have to buy a new gamepad.

    15 pin to USB adapter

Since it is old, it may be easier to install a 5.00 used PCI sound card (you may even have one laying around) and use its' 15 pin gameport connector.
CH Products used to sell a 'Gameport III' PCI card.
A simple PCI card which offered two 15 pin gameports.

I have encountered a similar issue before. What works, is to try the update of your chipset's driver. This could be an error once present in your chipset's initial release, but has since then been fixed by your chipset's manufacturer. Also this could another among the millions of peculiarities in the windows operating system, i say this for it is very possible the the controller will function well if a game is started while the controller is already plugged in. Just see if it works, but an amendment to the chipset's instruction set would be optimal.

On playstation 2 controlors were is the white , b button black

You are saying PS2 controller but only the Xbox and Xbox-360 controllers have the black and white buttons. These controllers can't be swapped to the other system even with emulators via USB adaptation. The Xbox controller can be adapted for USB PC use with Windows XP but has very little support when trying in Vista. 360 has USB connection and has full connectivity for Gamepad use in Vista. I am not exactly sure why you are trying to find these buttons on the wrong controller. If you are trying to make a gamepad for PC, I would recommend either an adapter or USB hack, but not much information on DIY PS2 USB adaptation. Google has a lot of resources on various DIY gamepad projects but not all are helpful. In any case, I hope this information either helps or leads you to the resources you need.

    Joystick adaptors

I have been trying for a couple of years now.. The companies tech support had no solution either. As far as I know....you CAN"T. The BlackHawk is a Digital device and the USB Adapters are for Analog Gamepads and joysticks. I have tried it and it does not work.
Shortly after this joystick (My favorite of all times) came out everyone switched over to USB interface instead of using the midi/game port.
Either buy a Soundcard with a midi port or you will have to move on to another joystick. I have yet seen a pci card with just a gameport on it.. Good luck
