Our Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW works fine, too, until the final spin cycle. At the end of the wash, the motor doesn't seem to spin fast enough to pull the excess water out of the clothes. When this last cycle is finished, there is still a little water at the bottom with the clothes. I have already replaced the water pump, and still have the problem.

Last time I had this problem I googled and was told to use a wet vac and I cleaned all the hoses with it and it worked fine for about 3-4 months. I have a family of six so it gets a work out. I did the samething as last but it does not do the fast spin dry to get the water out.

We have a Magtag Neptune stackable. I don't know if that is the number. Our machine will not go into the spin cycle. We have changed the motor board and the wax motor and it still won't work. Any other suggestions? Lin Waddington

Same thing, my machine is not holding water at the bottom but the clothes are still really wet. I took the hoses off and cleaned them and the pump which seems to be working. I saw on another web site that some people have replaced their 40 W with 80 W pump but don't know how to tell if my pump needs replacing. Any ideas?

Kenmore washer 80 series does not drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Here are some steps to help you determine the problem and solution:

1. Pinched hose: Is the drain hose at the back of the washer been flattened or twisted in any area? A pinched hose could prevent the water from draining thoroughly. Gently straighten the hose, and make sure there is sufficient room between the back of the washing machine and the wall to prevent a repeat of the problem.

2. Clogged drain hose or pump: Does the drum spin normally, but the washing machine won't drain the water? Sometimes a piece of clothing, money, fabric or other debris gets into the water between the inner and outer tub. It may then make its way into a drain hose or even into the pump itself. The farther into the machinery a clog goes, the trickier it can be to remove. Call a repair professional for help.

3. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

6. Pump failure: Is your washing machine more than 7 years old? Your pump may simply have worn out. Even if it sounds as though it is running, the pump may not be working well enough to draw the water out of the machine. Replacement parts for pumps are generally unavailable. A new pump may be necessary.

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. These clogs may be the reason for why your washing machine won't drain.

Washing machine will not drain

Since you've already checked the pump, hoses and motor, here are some additional issues to look at:

1. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

2. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

I have a Bosch WFMC330SUC that does not end the cycle, it just keeps starting over. I assume it is a bad control board, but they are $300+ and I'd probably replace the machine instead. Any suggestions?

Hi wwwylie,

First check the Drain Pump filter, as the last 2 cycles of a machine is Drain & Spin, and if the Drain pump cannot drain the water, the filter may be clogged and the cycle won't progress to spin.

Please follow my below Tip on how to do this:

ACCESSING, DRAINING & CLEANING THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER...

Kind Regards

My washer won't spin on spin cycle

Hi rapwizz,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)
