Sure will. All PCI (White in color slot), as the same. Age is not an issue.

New Geforce 6200 on AGP 8x slot has no output

if you can't get a display from the onboard vga the PSU must have killed the mother board. the 6200 gets all of its power from the AGP slot. so if the PSU killed the 6200 it must have gone thru the motherboard. it does not seem likely it took out the 6200 but nothing happened to the board. try taking out the RAM modules. if the computer does not beep then most likely the motherboard is dead.

I included the link for buying the XFX PCI graphics card in ine of my post. (I'll list it again here).

I can't say if the XFX card would be easily found at a local PC store or not. Places like BestBuy, if they have that card would charge more than what is listed on the internet. Keep in mind PCI video cards are not in demand, so their price may infact go up. I did a google search for, XFX GeForce 6200 Video Card - 512MB DDR2. You can run a search you're self.

Good Luck!

I like XFX cards because they carry a life time warranty. How about A PCI with 512MB DDR2 memory.

Graphics card

Hi Harikris, no you can not install just any graphics card. You're Intel D845GLLY board uses an onboard graphics card. (It's an AGP graphics card).
If it's you're intention to install a new graphics card you must use a PCI graphics card. (Understand that the AGP onboard graphics is faster than a PCI graphics card). However, the PCI cards do use their own memory. (Which fee’s you're system memory to run windows.
The Intel D845GLLY has 4 PCI (White) slots, onboard. You can add a video card into the system. You're onboard video card does use you're system memory to function. If you're PC has 512MB of system memory & you're video card is set to use 128MB of memory. Than you're system is left to run with 128MB. One would think you're system is running a little slow.
The Intel D845GLLY motherboard can use up to 256MB of system memory. You can set the amount of system memory in the bios as shown on page 49, table 18. In you're manual. If you do not have you're manual you can download it from here:
May I suggest you increase you're system memory to 1GB. Than increase you're graphics memory to 256MB. You're system will run faster & so will you're graphics card. These older Intel motherboards require memory current for you're board. Click this link:
If you still feel that you want to use the slower PCI graphics card you can choose from any listed on this link:
You will also need to change a setting in you're bios to boot to the PCI card instead of the AGP onboard card. Page 49.

Good Luck!

Graphics card problem

Hi rovin,
So you bought an XFX GeForce 256MB video card. You're board has 1 free AGP 8x video slot & 3 PCI (White opened slots).
You mention there is not slot for the new card. (What type of video card did you buy)? PCI-E, AGP or PCI?
The only slot you're board does not have is a PCI-Express.
Look in you're manual on page 1-7 for the location of the AGP video card slot.
94565e6.jpg If you bought the wrong card, exchange it for an AGP 8x or PCI.
The ASUS P5PE-VM uses a integrated Intel® 865G chipset with integrated Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 Technology, which uses you're system memory to function.
If you need a manual you can download it from Asus. Click on the link to open to the P5PE-VM download site.

I hope you find this helpful.

Ge force 6200 video card installation

Hi dl1099, your motherboard L7VMM2 can only run a 4xAGP video card as noted in your manual pg. 2 Settings pg. 36
If your not getting video at boot up switch connectors on the video card.
