I have XP with SP3 installed and I had the same message about updating to XP SP2 so the driver would not install from the DVD.

The solution seems to be to install all the software then insert the easycap in a USB port. Tell XP not to install the drivers automatically. Instead, before you start this entire operation, locate the drivers subdirectory on the DVD (mine were in drivers\BDA32) and tell XP to install them manually from that location. This seems to have worked perfectly - there are a number of drivers to install and once the video drivers are installed eventually the audio drivers then get installed automatically.

There is a problem with SP-3. There are many older softwares and drivers that don't recognize it as lagitimate. This is because in the software code of the softares, it is looking specificaly for SP-2, and not looking for "SP-2 or greater".

I noticed that there is an indication that you have only 512 mb RAM. With XP-Pro it is best to have 1 gb or greater. With SP-2 or SP-3, this becomes even more of an issue.

Looking for the driver files for your EasyCap USB video capture?
This is a guarantee fix!! 1) Download vuze (vuze.com) or use any bit-torrent client application. 2) search for easycap on btjunkie.org and download the .iso or .rar file.

If you are unable to open the files, just google or download winrar or poweriso and you are good to go.

Hi,
To install the driver on a system with XP SP3 (it may also work with Vista) just plug in your EasyCap USB device. When Windows asks for drivers, simply point to the folder on the CD that says "Drivers" then to 'BDA32' or 'BDA64' (depending on your system type - 32 or 64-bit). Windows will install your EasyCap device and you can start capturing video (if a warning message pops up just hit 'continue anyway'). Thats all.

The driver for "KWorld DVD Maker USB2.0 1.1.0812.1" is compatible with "EasyCap USB 2.0 Video Grabber" under XP SP3, and I've put it up on my website so it won't disappear. Get it here:

http://www.pixelparadox.com/temp/v1.1.0812.1_060320.zip

Plug in your EasyCap USB to a USB slot, and don't forget the RCA jack plugs into the a line-in to capture your sound.

Unzip the zip file and run SetupDrv.exe.

EasyCap will be recognized as a "USB 2860 Device".

I've done captures from VHS tape to WMV video with "Windows Movie Maker" and "ULead Studio SE" with excellent results under XP SP3.

While you're there pick up a great game or screensaver from

http://www.pixelparadox.com

Cheers,
Ken Seamon

Just search for the oem.inf file (or similar) in the Drivers folder of the CD. Right click it and select "Install"

what i did to fix the problem is uninstall the windows sp3 update instal the usb video grabber then reinstall windows sp3 update. thats the only work around i know of.

You can use windows update and use there drivers yet the drivers make streeches and cuts some of the video from the oringal sorce so stick the orginal drivers. not the windows one.

I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. The installation of the EASYCAP VIDEO DRIVER always prompts me to upgrade to SP2. I however have a better Service Pack 3. How can I solve the problem.
