Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

My 4 month old Samsung Le32R87BDX television has recently developed a problem where it keeps on cycling down through the channels automatically. When this happens the only button on the remote control that will take effect is the power button, but it immediately turns itself on and begins the process. I’ve tried turning the television off and pulling the main power cord out, but unless we leave it off for about 30 minutes the same thing happens again. Grateful for any idea?

Since the set is only 4 months old, it should still be under warranty. DO NOT open up the set as that will void the warranty. Call for warranty service and indicate that this is an intermittant problem. If you can report any pattern about when this behavior occurs, that info will be helpful in resolving the problem.

Keep us posted.

I would try a new lamp. Lamps have varying qualities & usage conditions may cause varying life spans. So, even though the lamp may be 1 year old I would try a new one first.

Flickering screen, loud buzzing sound, self boot down.

Color wheel bad. Makes rumbling sound. Bad bearings. Has to spin about 10,000 RPMs and sync to DLP chip. Here: https://www.encompassparts.com/webwiz/wwiz.asp?wwizmstr=WEB.SEE&partnumber=5933777&smodel=HLR5067WX/XAA

The volume goes down ,then it cycles automatically through channels

sounds like your volume down on set is stuck in down postion... press it to see... listen for faint clicking noise that means its ok... and your problem could be remote button stuck... any button on set or last Microprocessor went bad.

We purchased an LCD TV very recently (2 days ago) and when we turned it on it automatically stored the channels in our area. However, after our initial excitment of the picture quality etc we discovered...

Manually type in channel 9 and then hit <enter> so the TV switches to that channel. Then go to the "setup" screen and navigate around until you find the "channel setup" section. There you will find an option to memorize channels, including the channel you are on.
