Hello
i am experiencing problems with my GE Profile freezer bottom. the temp is at 24 degrees. Most everything have melted or it's almost there. i have reset the temp to zero (recommended). I have also unplugged the refridgerator for approx one hour in hopes that it will automatically reset. In doing so, the freezer temp went to 30 and now climbing back down...it's currently at 24. What do you suppose the problem may be? Should I be calling a repair person? My fridge is only 18 mos old.
Thank you
M

Have the same problem. The freezer is set to 0- but displays a temp of anywhere from 7 to 22. The freezer only sometimes gets down to zero. We have cleaned the coils. It is less than 2 years old and not sure what to do now. Has been going on for a month. We thought the recent electrical work somehow is drawing some of the power. But after reading this it seems that is not the case.

Same issue, the freezer is not keeping a constant temperature at all. Ice cream came out like a soft served cone. The banging noise others are experiencing we also have. We took the fan from inside the top of the freezer off and the parts place told us that is not the issue for the banging. Now this.....any solutions? I reset to -5 and still going to 14 degrees right away. I will NEVER purchase GE again. From the moment we had this fridge we had issues and GE does NOT stand behind their products. Our product is PDS22SFSBRSS

the same thing is happening to me - It started when the weather got really hot and humid and the freezer climbed to 13ish. Each day the temp gets warmer and yesterday it was up to 23 - ice making stopped. Ref side also climbed to 43. This unit is also about 18 months old - terribly disappointed.

I had a water leak so I took off the cover in the back and saw the leak where plastic water tube connects and I tightened it. the leak stopped
however the fan to the left was not running. Now I'm wondering if it should be running all the time? I don't want to start fixing something thats not broke. Thanks Chris

We have only had our refrigerator for 13 months. The freezer temperature won't go below 15 degrees. My husband took apart the back panal and discovered that the fan is not working. It looks real cheap and of poor quality. They sure don't make things like they use to.

Icemaker has been replace once already. New one stopped working. Freezer will not maintain temps below 10-degrees.

Update to previous comment. The repairman said that the motherboard that controls the condensor fan, which cools the compressor, is not working properly. He gave us a quote for a little over $200 to replace the motherboard. Warranty expired at 12 months. We've only had it for a little under 14 months. Crappy deal.

We're having the same problem with the PFS22SISSS for the past month. The freezer won't get to proper temperature and everything is melting. We've been gradually decreasing the recommended temp to see if it would catch up, but even at -6, it is still holding at +24.
We have a repairman coming out tomorrow to check it. They said it's already past it's one year warranty so we will have to pay for the service call. We've only had it just over a year.
