Pc not on

Hi,
The computer was working fine till suddenly it powered off abruptly.. I don't know how it got powered off. But after that my machine does not POST. I see nothing appearing on the screen. Keyboard, mouse nothing is detected. Also there are no beep sounds. But guess i never heard the BIOS beeps when the PC worked fine.

The CD drive opens up if i only connect the power supply to it without any connection of MB to it. The fans are running and also the green light on the MB is on. But other than there is no activity.

I opened up my CPU and removed the processor FAN. Removed the grease from teh interface between the processor and the processor fan. Hope that is not a problem.. :(

I have searched the MB for any damaged/bulging capacitors ... have not found anything yet. :)

I have also tried removing the CMOS battery and booting. But no help.
Also i have tried to boot the PC with BIOS safe mode. Still no help. :(

I would really appreciate getting some help regarding some solutions to this problem. I have searched the net extensively but have not come up with worth while solutions till now.

- Every Intel board starts with the letter D. Look at this link:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Search.aspx?Prod_nm=D845&lang=eng&MissingSearchTxt=Please+enter+a+valid+product+name%2C+filename+or+product+ID+%23.&x=27&y=8
Ther are a couple things you can try. If possible please swap out you're power supply. (A must try).
Opening the CD-ROM & the fans running use a small amount of voltage. You're power supply could be defective. PC systems can shut down if there is an overheat issue (Mostly from CPU overheat). The system will do that so you're CPU does not fry. If you are using two DIMMs remove one, the farthest from the CPU & try powering up the PC. Still nothing. Remove the other DIMM & replace it with the first DIMM you took out. Still nothng? Try another power supply as I mentioned above.

- Don't forget to add thermal grease when putting you're CPU back together!

- CMS, I can not send you to Intel for a bios upgrade or to flash you're current bios without the correct Intel motherboard model number. Please click on the link I posted above & look very closly on you're board for the correct Intel model number. If you have you're manual, the model number will be listed there.
