Question about Intel Motherboard

Cpu not power on but cpu,s fan working.

The computer was working fine till suddenly it powered off abruptly.. I don't know how it got powered off. But after that my machine does not POST. I see nothing appearing on the screen. Keyboard, mouse nothing is detected. Also there are no beep sounds. But guess i never heard the BIOS beeps when the PC worked fine.

The CD drive opens up if i only connect the power supply to it without any connection of MB to it. The fans are running and also the green light on the MB is on. But other than there is no activity.

I opened up my CPU and removed the processor FAN. Removed the grease from teh interface between the processor and the processor fan. Hope that is not a problem.. :(

I have searched the MB for any damaged/bulging capacitors ... have not found anything yet. :)

I have also tried removing the CMOS battery and booting. But no help.
Also i have tried to boot the PC with BIOS safe mode. Still no help. :(

I would really appreciate getting some help regarding some solutions to this problem. I have searched the net extensively but have not come up with worth while solutions till now.

In intel motherboard connect only SMPS&CPU fan to the MBD.Switch ON the power supply if the fan is running there is a problem in motherboard. The fan is not running means the problem is in other devices.

Why will my Emachines T5234 Desktop PC will turn on and go to the desktop but suddenly lose power afterwards?

It could be a number of things...
Could be too low a power supply for what you are trying to run.
Could be bad capacitors on the motherboard (check for bulges or brown spots).
Could be a short somewhere! I have worked on a number of computers that would work fine, until (short for whatever reason) then it would act weird again. One would work fine till I put the side panel back on, then I would get all sorts of operating errors.
Try running system with bare minimum components (or one at a time) to see which one is causing the problem.
Might want to reset the BIOS while you are at it too.

My computer keeps turning off i not sure what happening with it my hard drvie is fine and power supply but you see the fan that keeps it cool well i don't know but the cpu is a hp with window 7 and...

do you mean 1gb of this is not a ram issue ,sounds more like overheating or cpu fan is old is pc and have you clean the fans since owning it.Its a common problem .where do you keep your pc tower ,if on the floor then you may find your fans for your cpu, power, graphic are coated in dust, and you may find your fans are overheat due to the weight add and no Im not joking .try clean your fans and cpu cooler fins.don't use a vacuum cleaner like some people do as you can damage your chip-sets on your motherboard .buy a can of compressed air from pc store and make shore the fans dont spin when clean as it can short your cpu, graphics card.cpu fan clean gentle with cotton bud.if this does not work try replace your cpu fan. hope this helps let me know how you get on. ..............DT

My PC is not starting what is problem.

first make sure your ac cable is working well, then try to check the power supply of your computer if the fan rotates every time you hit the power button of your cpu, if not then change your power supply. if it fan rotates and stops, try to used another power supply if fan rotates and still won't display open up your cpu try to check if the fan over the processor will rotate and still don't recieve display. try to remove the video card and memory and clean it and re insert it. if still don't work. you got your motherboard defective.

There is definitely a power supply problem with the Dell XPS 200 I have. It starts fine and runs beautifully for about an hour. Then suddenly the screen goes blank, the light on the power button flashes...

First ingeneers build things to fuction AS IS, so i'm not sure you need more fan power.

Verify the inside of the computer is the CPU heat sink (big aluminium block with fan) CLEAN of any dust? are all the fans turning correctly (resonable speed)? verify the placement of the PC itself is it cooked up in a cabinet or pushed against a wall (blocking the holes in the case for air intake)?

if all of the above is OK you could re-paste the CPU (spreading new heat sink compound between the CPU and the heat sink)

Good luck!

My pc is shutting down what should i do to prevent it?

You haven't mentioned if it turns off abruptly or shuts down telling you that the PC is shutting down.

- When your PC turns off abruptly, its mostly the CPU which heats up. The reason may vary from the CPU fan stopped working to CPU gone bad.

- If its a proper shutdown, most probably there is a virus on the PC.

Computer will not start

make sure you remove any static energy from your body before any hardware changes, touch the wall or something to get started. remove the power supply and install it again. also exaclty what fan is turning off after three seconds, is it the CPU fan ????
another thing is that the power supply could be weak to feed the power necessary for all your cards, this is normal, try to test a more potential power supply.

Occassionally power supply get shut down suddenly when i am working on my computer bios setting of my IBM mother board gets disturbed

Hi, Have you checked the cpu cooling system, usually this happens if the heatsink does not sit on the CPU surface or there is some air gap, use heatsink compound to fill up the gap , or sometimes the fan RMP is slow cause of wear /tear.If not then check your ram and PSU.
Let me know
