Most likely the noise is coming from your rollers. Could be a flat spot and when it heats up goes away or if it is constant could be a damaged roller. Check the joint on the drum as well.

Dryer is knocking,on left rear side you can feel the knocking and when you press it knocks louder

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE STARTING ANY REPAIRS
Your problem sounds like drum rollers have flat spots on them or in need of lubrication.
If you have a front loading machine,

Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer.
Be REAL CAREFUL not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Remove the front of the dryer. This will expose the drum and belt.
Remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm
pulley and motor.
Now is a good time to check the belt to see the belt condition for wear.
Be sure to note the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go
to reinstall the belt.
Check your drum rollers for flat spots or wear, if they have flat spots
or wear on them replace them.
If the drum rollers don't have flat spots or wear on them then they probably
only need lubrication. Lubricate the shaft of the rollers with a good grade
of machine oil such as 3 in One oil.
Reassemble the dryer, plug back in. This should solve your noise problem.

My Gallery dryer has just developed a knocking sound. Like a clock ticking (knock-knock), (knock-knock), as the tub goes around.

Hi,
The most likell cause of that would be one of two things. Both are fixed easily.
First check your belt, it may have crack developing in it or a chunk has come out it which will cause the knocking sound.
The second cause could be that a guide wheel has lost a piece out of it or the bearing holding the wheel is going bad.
Either way it is in the drive train of your unit and you will need to open it up and see what is thumping.
You can then order the parts by doing a seach for "appliance parts". Choose a site and then enter your model number. Most sites have exploded views and a parts menu for your unit.
Check a number of sites as there is no one site that always seems to have the best price.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Knocking sounds

Ususally knocking is a sign that the rubber belt which spins the dryer tub is old and has hardened. If the knocking sound gets quieter after you have run the dryer for 30 minutes or so, then the belt is the problem. As the dryer turns, it heats up the rubber belt and makes the belt more pliable. This quiets the knock. I have seen dryers work fine for years, knocking the whole time. Have the belt replaced if the sound bothers you.
