Using DI-624S ... VPN works fine through CAT5 but not wireless

Hi, I am using D-Link DI-624s router and netcomm NB5 modem/router

If connect using CAT5 cable through DI-624s or direct to modem, VPN works fine. If if connect through wireless, VPN will connect and verify but I can't access any of the servers like if connecting through the cable.

hopefully this is a common and easy one. Got me baffled

thanks in advance

Repetitive disconnect problem....requires powering off & on to reset

I used a D-Link Di 624 for a number of years with Comcast and never had a problem with the router, but I did upgrade the firmware. You may want to look at the following items from D-Link about the DI-624S and see if you can find a better solution. I took the router out of service as I changed to Verizon FIOS and use their provided router.

WTF! internet used to work perfectly and now my wireless router is on the fritz and the status light keeps flashing! i have to hook my comp up to the wall to write this message

If the status led light keeps flashing there is a problem on your ISP side. Router is trying to establish connection with internet. Please check led light status on your modem (not router). Also please try to change position of your router as it might be in a "dead spot". For more info about your router please visit: http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=6

I'm trying to set up 2 computers in a wireless network. I have a D-Link DI-624 router. Where do I plug in the flash drive on the router?

Hi norman66, the wireless flash drive you connect to the computers that do not have a wireless card, not the router. First install the CD on the computer and then insert the usb device.
I hope this helps. Please do not forget to rate and provide positive feedback for our fast free support today. Thank you :D

Need to find the sotware to my DI-624s router . Can not get it to work with my pc. I know this device has been descontinued and im unable to find the sotware anywhere online. What other options do i have...

Who is your ISP ? If you connect the computer to the modem , does it work ? If that works then you can set u0p router without the CD or any software. You can set up router manually. You will need to access the router set up. Click Here for step by step solutions

Printing with Dlink DI-624S and VPN connection

I am guessing this VPN is something work related and not a VPN you setup yourself?? If that is the case your company's VPN access will not allow you to pass from there network back to yours which is why you are unable to print to your local home printer when connected to VPN. You might could run it by your IT staff and see if they will allow connection and help you set it up. If not then simply email the docs to yourself and then print them out after you are finished using VPN connection.

Hope this Helps

If your router has security you have to enter the security key on the laptop for it to connect properly.

DLink DI-624s - can't get Cisco VPN Client to connect.

The "Virtual Server" setting is designed to give the general public access to a network resrouce (web/ftp/media server) on your internal network. If your the VPN concentrator is external to your network (meaning you'll have to use the internet to connect to it), then you won't need to define a virtual server on the DI-624.

You'll just need to enable the IPSEC and PPTP VPN Passthrough which it sounds like you've already done this. I've run into some ISP's that block VPN connections out of their network. If you have the ability, try to directly connect your laptop into your cable/DSL modem in place of your router and see if you can make a VPN connection, if not contact your ISP, if you can then verify you enabled the VPN passthroughs because your router is blocking them.

GIve it a shot and let us know your results.
