Question about Fisher and Paykel DGGX1 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

F&P DGGX1, drain backed up, control boards got fried.

With all the rain we've been getting, my drains ran backwards last Friday early morning. I've been so busy cleaning up that today when I went to start a load of laundry, I was surprised that the dryer, a Fisher Paykel DGGX1, would not power on. Closer inspection found that there was standing water in the exhaust area, which I drained. Took the front panel off the dryer and instantly smelled that "burnt electronics" smell.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to order parts? (or tell me that I'm better off just replacing it?)

Thanks a lot in advance!

Sounds like it isn't getting power. Check the circuit breaker that controls the circuit the dishwasher is wired into.

Water leak after rain, rear floorboards soaked? HELP!

a couple things to look at if it has a sunroof the sun roof would have drain hoses that run down in each corner next you need to look at the cowl this is the section in front of the windshield that has a drain on it as well if you find nothing there the next step would be to remove the seats and carpet and sit in the car while running water over it either way you should remove the carpet and make sure it is dry all the way threw or mold will start to grow and you will never get ride of it not good for your heath other key spots to look at is if the windshield was ever replaced it could be a poor seal

probably the drain pump, access is underneath and to the right of pump housing, the drain hose connects to main housing and the drain motor is right and just behind where hose connects. open door part way for easier access. and use shop vac to remove as much water as possible, then have 2 or 3 bath towels to clean up if you try on your own. local parts house will have drain pump if you take model # with you

Water accumulates on the front and rear driverside floor boards

do you have a moon roof. That would be the only thing with drains.
Look for water stains, trails. Could be roof ditch moldings or even sealer skips in windshield or back window. Could b a/c drain if you are running a/c

Floor board on passenger side door gets wet when it rains. i am sure a vent drain is clogged

The drains in the wiper wells are probably clogged. You need to remove the plastic 'vent screen' under the wipers to clear out the debris. Remove the wipers and a few screws, not difficult at all. Also, under the hood, you will see a vertical tube on each side of the car under the wiper wells. These can be removed from under the hood without removing the wipers, but you will probably have to clear the wells anyway. What happens is the water backs up and enters the car through the fresh air inlet and comes in around the blower fan. Good Luck.
