I have a ps3 and on call of duty 4 i can play with all the controllers. i haev rainbow six veags two and i can start the game with the controller it came with, but the other controller only works when i turn the others off. and i cannot play multiplayer because one controller will stop working. i can't play gran turismo 5 prologue with either of the wireless logitech controllers. i can go through the menu's but when i start the race, all's i can do is pause the game or quit it.
You will need to pair the second controller. To do this power on your ps3 as normal with the controller that works, then plug in your second controller via usb and press the "PS" button. The red LED's should flash and then the second led should stay on.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You need to sync your controller with the ps3, put the USB dongle into one of the available slots on the ps3 - exactly where you would normally connect a wired controller on the front. Now switch on your ps3, the dongle will connect, now put your USB cable into the black ops controller and switch on - your 4 lights should be flashing on the controller. Now press connect on the USB dongle, your controller should now sync to the ps3 and hopefully will show as controller No 1. Remove the USB cable and play wireless.
Hi, Hopefully this will help solve your problem: 1.Press and hold down the power button located at the front of the PS3 console, until you hear a first beep, then eventually a second – before the console shuts down, then let go of the button; 2.Now press and hold the button again until you hear a first beep, then a second beep then eventually a quick double-beep, then let go of the button; 3.The TV screen should now display a six option menu, where you can select what’s required, i.e. `Restart System`, `Restore System` etc. `Reset System` should only be used after other attempts with the other options, as your game saved data may be lost. If you play Modern Warfare 2 online, then this won’t be affected as your data is saved on the Sony Server. 4.During any of the above actions, your best having your handset controller connected to the PS3 via the USB cord, which includes pressing the `P` button when required (located between `Start` and `Select`). These actions should help solve `freeze` problems and others such as update errors etc – which restrict you starting up or playing your console. Don’t hesitate to contact Sony UK if required, who are very helpful. Their UK number is: 0844 7360595 Good Luck!
Some games will do this if you are holding the control-stick any direction while starting the system.
Next time you play it, try holding the stick just slightly in the opposite direction to compensate as you start the system, or unplug the controller-hold the stick down, then plug back in ( while playing )
If that doesn't work, it might be time for a new controller. Or you could open it ( disconnect first ) and check around the stick for anything that might be pushing it up.
PS3 when playing a game (Call to Duty 4), game quit, TV screen has black, white and gray vertical lines on it, disc will not reject, game control red lights (4) keep blinking, and PS3 not accessible. ????? Thanks firstname.lastname@example.org
