My Motorola H700 Will Not Pair

By DWMontoya on Jun 09, 2008

" "
I have successfully paired my H700 with my Motorola "Pocket PC" Cell phone several times. However, after working for a while, the "pairing" seems to be lost, because the cell phone is not transferring the call to the hands-free device.

SO - as a "fix," I have deleted the device "H700" in bluetooth setup mode on my Pocket PC a few times, then redetected and reinstalled the bluetooth device. This always requires a password, which by default according to Motorola is "0000." This four-digit number has always worked in the past.

NOW, however, on my latest attempt to install, the Pocket PC will not take "0000." And the pairing attempt fails. Motorola's 1-800 number automated system said to try "1234," so I did - no dice.

I have tried rebooting my Pocket PC several times - no change. I don't know how to reset the H700 other than to turn it off and on, which I have - repeatedly. The H700 is on steady purple light, which means that it is supposed to be in "pairing mode," and the Pocket PC detects it, but the pairing procedure fails at the stage where the passcode is entered.

I have a sony ericsson W580i that I have been connecting with my motorola S9 for a few months. All of a sudden I started noticing the same problem to where it will not connect. After trying everything else, as a last resort I removed the battery and the SIM card, waited a minute and put it back on. WORKED LIKE A CHARM
Hope it helps

After working well for a year, my Motorola H350 stopped working. The phone seemed to think it had a connection, but it refused to transfer calls to the H350. I re-paired the phone and H350 with 0000, but no dice. Then I read captianbob's post "I have had a similar problem which was resolved by plugging the fully charged headset back into the charger for a few seconds and then unplugging. This seems to have reset something in the headset and then it paired."

This worked!

The above advice is absolutely correct. The light should show you purple and steady. Then you need to enter password "0000". This will connect you to the handset device.

I had the same problem and I keep trying and trying 1234, 0000 and other numbers I can think of. It was frustrating. I was ready to throw my device away and buy a new one. Then I tried something that I have not and it worked. All I needed to do is to press the big button in the center of the H700 until it turns purple steadily. And then I pulled out the microphone of the H700. The button remained purple. Then I typed the password 0000 into my cellphone. The button will flicker indicating it's finally communicating and then it finally did!. Try that. Hopefully it works for you too. It worked with mine.
