Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Xbox freezes constantly

I have had my xbox 360 for less than a year now. I have sent it in previously for freezing on me and not allowing me to take out one of my games. Now I am having more issues with this system. Whenever I attempt to play a game, the system will restart on me every 10-20 minutes. It is very frustrating. It never allows me time to play anything. Also when this does happen I have to let the system sit for about an hour just so I can get my game out of the system. When I attempt to get the game out the little green power button in the middle just blinks.

We'll I didn't get the extra warranty from Best Buy when I bought it. I called microsoft today and they told me to go to Best Buy and talk to them about it. But I dont know how Best Buy can possibly help me. And I dont even know what to say to them. I figure they will just say hey its not our problem anymore.

It's definetly a massive multiple hardware failure. I recommend you take it back to the retailer to be replaced. If your warranty is still active, that is. Getting it refurbished again could cause more damage to it, so a replacement really would be the best solution.

I see. Then you'll definetly have to get a new one. There is no fixing a system with too many problems to count. There will always be room for more error if you continue use of it. Sorry.

The reason why your Xbox 360 keeps on freezing is because you will soon encounter the red ring of death or the E74 error. to simply solve this error check out this vid

Loads the beginning (intro) of games, then freezes... I've only played maybe 70 hours on it and it's less than a year old.

If this freezing is consistent across all games you are having a heat issue. Since your unit is less than a year old go to www.xbox.com/support and request a repair.

Games and demos would freeze after about 10-30 min (or sometimes in less time) of gameplay. Now the Xbox 360 turns on but nothing but a blank tv screen and everybody's favorite red ring of death. What...

Go on xbox.com, and it is one of the first FAQ's. It will direct you to fill out your info and MS will send you an empty box and a UPS label. Follow their directions, and you should have a new box in a couple of weeks for free.

hold the disc by the edges without touching the surface.
clean the disc with soft cloth from center outwards.
do not use any solvent,
examine the disc for any visible damage.

verify wether the xbox clock is set correctly.

On certian games, spiderman 3 , saints row & others, my xbox 360 freezes,I have it well vent.and a laptop cooling fan under it. Any thoughts?

I have an older 360 that was doing the same thing. It was purchased in 2007. We just bought one for our daughter this past Christmas and hers hasn't done it yet. The newer Xbox 360 is a lot louder than my old one. I just sent my old one in to be serviced due to freeze up, false clean disc comments, and a wobbleing/rattleing noise when disc was starting and stopping. If yours is still covered under warranty I would send it back. I purchased the extended warranty, thankfully, for 2 years after the manuf. warranty. I don't know if you can purchase it after you purchase the Xbox 360 or not. You may want to check into it. IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY. I got it on both systems, mine and my daughters. The big thing is acting on the problem ASAP after you start noticing it before the warranty runs out!

Xbox 360 freezing

Clean your disc, and keep objects away from the sides and back of the console... to allow cooling. Also might want to consider getting a cd lens cleaner, it'll get the dust out of there.
