BB return policy

I am considering buying a 50 inch LCD TV and a Canon G9 Camera. However, I am concerned about your return policy.

If the items don't meet my need will you charge me a 15% restocking fee? If so I'll buy from anotehr store

BEST BUY, MY FOOT Best Buy has some bad policies....

Normally, I would not share this with others, however, since this could happen to you or your friends, I decided to share it. If you purchase something from, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, JC Penny, Sears, etc., and you return the item with the receipt they will give you your money back if you paid cash, or credit your account if paid by plastic.

Well, I purchased a GPS for my car, a Tom Tom XL.S from 'Best Buy'. They have a policy that it must be returned within 14 days for a refund!

So after 4 days I returned it in the original box with all the items in the box, with paper work and cords all wrapped in the plastic. Just as I received it, including the receipt.
I explained to the lady at the return desk I did not like the way it could not find store names. The lady at the refund desk said, there is a 15% restock fee, for items returned. I said no one told me that. I said how much would that be. She said it goes by the price of the item. It will be $45.00 Dollars for you. I said, all your going to do is walk over and place it back on the shelf then charge me $45.00 of my money for restocking? She said that's the store policy. I said if more people were aware of it they would not buy anything here! If I bought a $2000.00 computer or TV an d returned it I would be charged $300.00 dollars restock fee? She said yes, 15%.

I said OK, just give me my money minus the restock fee.

She said, since the item is over $200.00 dollars, she can't give me my money back!!!

Corporate has to and they will mail you a check in 7 to ten days.!! I said 'WHAT?!'

It's my money!! I paid in cash! I want to buy a different brand..Now I have to wait 7 to 10 days. She said well, our policy is on the back of your receipt.

I said, do you read the front or back of your receipt? She said well, the front! I said so do I, I want to talk to the Manager!.

So the manager comes over, I explained everything to him, and he said, well, sir they should have told you about the policy when you got the item. I said, No one, has ever told me about the check refund or restock fee, whenever I bought items from computers to TVs from Best Buy. The only thing they ever discussed was the worthless extended warranty program. He said Well, I can give you corporate phone number.

I called corporate. The guy said, well, I'm not supposed to do this but I can give you a 45.00 dollar gift card and you can use it at Best Buy. I told him if I bought something and returned it, you would charge me a restock fee on the item and then send me a check for the remaining 3 dollars. You can keep your gift card, I'm never shopping in Best Buy ever again, and if I would have been smart, I would have charged the whole thing on my credit card! Then I would have canceled the transaction.

I would have gotten all my money back including your stupid fees! He didn't say a word!

I informed him that I was going to e-mail my friends and give them a heads up on this stores policy, as they don't tell you about all the little caveats.

So please pass this on. It may save your friends from having a bad experience of shopping at Best Buy

IF THIS IS TRUE -- I'M DONE WITH YOU --

I SHOP ON LINE AND HAVE BOUGHT A NUMGER OF THINGS FROM YOU AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. HOWEVER -- I'M GOING TO CHECK THIS ACCUSATION BEFORE I SHOP AGAIN AND IF IT'S TRUE -- I'LL GO ELSWHERE

  • Anonymous Jun 26, 2008

I have spent almost 3 months now to obtain a credit for a service charge, (a telephone order), which I canceled less than 20 hours after placing it but at least 8 days before service was to be provided.

Subsequent telephone inquiries (using the order number) were answered that the order had been cancelled, then on-line I obtained the information that "This order does not exist."

But a charge for $ 244.98 was submitted to Amexco, who are telling me that this "documentation" is sufficient proof. I started an inquiry but so far no results.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY AGAIN!!

EVEN IF THEY GAVE IT AWAY FREE!!

Hey cometo,

The return period for most products sold through your local Best Buy™ store is 30 days, but please keep in mind that there are some exceptions. Monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, radar detectors, video games purchased as used, desktop computers and notebook computers must be brought back to your local store within 14 days of purchase in order to be returned or exchanged.

Additionally, some products are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned opened and non-defective. Those products are notebook computers, camcorders, digital cameras, projectors, radar detectors, GPS navigation devices, and all mobile (in-vehicle) video systems. For special order products however, the restocking fee is 25%.

Remember that the restocking fee is only charged when the product is returned opened and non-defective - we are unable to waive this fee if you are simply dissatisfied with your purchase.

If you are still unsure and would like further clarification of these policies, I would strongly suggest checking out our return policy FAQ by following the link I've provided below.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Can i use chromecast on this model tv LG 42px3rvc-ta

Ought to work with HDMI. Suggest to try before buying or have a Return policy.

Most HDMI displays work with Chromecast, but not all will allow full Chromecast controls (HDMI-CEC for games, media functions with TV remote, etc.) If all of the HDMI ports on your display are in use, consider getting anHDMI Switcher

Not a great brand, generally when out of warranty, you are on your own. No repair except by independant shops if they will even touch it - no manuals or parts that they can get... Considered a disposable set.

Got a 50 inch lcd tv and we broke the screen

The screen itself is the most expensive part of the TV. Usually, a LCD screen of that size cost well over $3,000 for a single purchase from the supplier. The labor and the part will exceed the worth of the TV. It's best to buy a new TV at this point.

Samsung internal crack 50" plasma tv

Hello,

First of all if this problem happens to you I am very sorry - it puts consumers in a very bad situation because any retailer or manufacturer will typically deem a screen crack as damage caused by the owner and therefore not honor return policies and/or warranty coverage.

With that said, please remember the golden rule of retail, "If you b*tch enough you get what you want."

I am young @ 20 years old and have worked in retail (specifically electronics stores) for 4 years. I recently purchased a Samsung 50" Plasma series 4 from Sears and experienced the problem described above in almost the exact fashion except my tv was only 8 days old.

After reading this post, I immediately called Samsung @ 1-800-726-7864 and notified them of the problem and declined service (because I was still within Sears return policy) but made sure to get a reference number which proved I contacted Samsung.

The next day, I took the tv back to Sears to try and return it or at the very least exchange it. Trust me when I tell you, be ready for a major battle at the store. It took two hours of arguing with associates and managers before getting anywhere. And in the end, I was only able to exchange my tv but for a different model (non plasma).

Here's my advice if you're still within the return policy and attempt to return the tv. First, do not try and hide the crack - as soon as you talk to the first associate, show them the damage and explain exactly what happened. Tell them many people are experiencing the exact same problem and that fact can be verified online. Immediately following that conversation, expect the associate to inform you that the store cannot return any tvs with cracked screens. Don't waste anymore time - ask for a manager.

Now, explain to the manager what happened all over again. You will hear many rebuttals but what is important is to remain confident that the problem was not caused by you, the owner but was actually a manufacturers defect right out of the box. Prove this by demanding the manager to find any physical damage on the screen casing - also since only the internal screen is cracked, ask him to touch the screen. If he's still not convinced have him google, "samsung plasma loud noise cracked screen." This issue is widespread and well known in forums.

If all else fails, ask the manager for the district or regional manager's telephone number. Remember the golden rule and don't leave the store without a refund or exchange.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're outside the return policy, contact Samsung and schedule a technician to come to your home. Again, stress the fact that many people are experiencing the same problem and the crack is internal (there is no external damage).

Make sure to get a copy of the technician's report because many people have said the technician agrees in person, "oh yeah, the problem seems to be a manufacturers defect" but writes on the report, "no picture - screen cracked." Do not let the tech leave until he provides an accurate, non-biased, and detailed report.

If Samsung still doesn't approve the repair/replacement then file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have read in many forums that this method seems to be the quickest and surest way to get Samsung to take responsibility for their defective tvs.

I wish everyone the best of luck in correcting this issue - and please if you're reading this before considering buying a Samsung plasma tv - DON'T - stick with lcd. I've owned three Samsung lcds for years with no problems.

My Insignia NS-27lcd tv won't power on

Could be a dead backlight or inverter board. I would try the power supply as it isn't that expensive. I would buy the power supply from whoever has the best return policy. Best Buy might take it back with no questions asked. This way, if it is not the power supply, you can return it.
