No voice sound from receiver

I have a JVC RX-6020V. When i put in a DVD, i get all the backround noise, but not voices. I looked at all the connections, and they look good to go. Not sure what to do.

Sounds to me like you have not got the cener speaker working properly. Try another surround mode, then check the speaker by switching it with another known good one just to make sure i the problem is the speaker or the receiver. You can also do the speaker test and make sure the center speaker is set to be turned on in the menu settings.

Here is a link to the owners/operation manual and you can find any information you need to check your receiver out. If you never are able to get it working, you need to take it to a service center to be checked out.

A "FixYa!" rating would be appreciated, and let me know if you need any more help,

Digital input has no sound even though all settings have been set correctly

New install or new problem on old equipment?

ALL digital inputs or just one?

If just one, look to the source or its cable.

If everything is done correctly it should work.

My problem is different. If I unplug it my receiver takes two to three weeks before it comes back on. It's always taken a few hours in the past and even referenced it in the manual but this is ridiculous

the temperature inside of your receiver unplugd is to cold to start the powersupply or other electronics
replace the capacitors of the supply and this problem will be fixed.
the value is bethween 470/uF25V and 2200uF/40V
they are located near the transformator

Rx-v563 backround music much louder than people when watching tv

I would check your center speaker wiring and setting. Then switch to a different audio setting (pro logic, theater...)

Voices drowned out by background noise.

Not a suggestion, but I hope there is a solution.
Recently bought an LG HDTV that has a setting that should increase the voice over the background. If it does, I can't notice the difference. I guess they can probably measure it electronic.
I've had your same complaint for years, without a good solution. Best so far is to use headphones.
I have no idea why film people add all the extra noise. Most of it is not even real.

Here is a link to get your owners/operation manual for the model you indicated. It has two listed, the bottom one is most likely yours.

You will get all the instructions you need to connect your unit properly.

A "FixYa!" rating would be apprecieated, since this all the information you really need.

It says overload

All the speakers connected right?
ANy speaker fuses not accounted for?
If you moved , someone may have dropped it or bonked it enough to crack a printed circuit board. That would make things unpleasant.
It's fairly easy to fix a cracked PCB if you know what to look for.
