SOURCE: AOC 53N PROBLEM

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLDER. IF SO, TRY TO OPEN THE MONITR AND LOCATE THE VERTICAL SECTION AND YOU WILL FIND LOOSE SOLDERS. A SINGLE HORIZONTAL LINE MEANS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE VERTICAL LINEARITY OF YOUR MONITOR. FIND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO FIX COLD SOLDERS

SOURCE: no display after 3 secs.

The problem is due to short of two transistors on the PS Board near the high voltage transformer (Q209,Q210 or Q211,Q212 - 2sc5706).

Which components need to be replaced when horizontal lines appear?

What horizontal lines do you mean? I can think of several.

- You could have a line of dead pixels on your monitor, this would probably be caused by wear and tear of the monitor, or because it has been handled the wrong way.

- You could be experiencing 'screen tearing'. This is caused by your videocard struggling for a moment.

- If you're running an older, analog monitor, it could be because the cable you're using is getting older and needs to be replaced.

this what they all did long ago, if actually used heavy
  1. CCF go dim
  2. go intermittent. (PURE RANDOM) 'Ionization is tricky""
  3. goES dead
  4. goed dead only hot or cold (yours fails warm)
  5. goes yellow tinged for pure white.

Hello, i have a Aoc 2434pw monitor that just lost all its power, it was on overnight as usuall (online business so my pc never shuts down), but i woke up to find that all power to the monitor was not...

Many flat screen monitors were manufactured with faulty capacitors.
See if you can open the monitor and examine the power supply for any "domed" capacitors. The top of the capacitor should be flat, but if pressure has built up inside, they become domed, indicating that they have failed.
Replace any of them that you see to be damaged and there is a good chance that the monitor will work again.
It has been a problem with quite a number of monitors. The electrolyte inside the capacitors was cheaper and just doesn't hold up.
Good luck

Aoc monitor shut off by itself

If the screen just goes black, more likely to be the problem inside the monitor, if you decide to DIY repair, please read below and go to my pictures so you will get some ideas what to look for inside.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Get a technician to clean them out for you, for safety reasons. it is possible - by the way - to clean flies from the LCD except the fact that you must know how to handle such components as a LCD screen disassembled.

I have a AOC flat screen monitor and it got wet and it will turn on for a few seconds but the screen is blurry and looks wet itself , is there anyway to fix this ?

hello my friend, try to blower your monitor. Open it and see if inside of the monitor is not wet cause if it is wet then it could cause some short circuit problem so the best thing to do is to let the monitor check if it is wet and dry it up before turning on

AOC 17" Flat Monitor (silver)

Hello all.I had 2 AOC monitors with this kind of problem also and figured out the problem with this kind of monitor. All you have to do is to unscrew the monitor and get the control control switch buttons on its circuit board. There are four switch button that control the monitor with four pins each that attaches to the circuit board of AOC, another option is to replace the switch button with a brand new  control switch button which can be bought to your local electronic shop. Now i had no problem with my AOC monitor because i literally removed those switch control buttons from its circuit board.

AOC LM729 17" LCD Monitor - Manuel

I assume you only found the 4 mount screws in the back... You also need to take off the front silver edging - it pops off with some negotiating, but if you find the right spots and don't pry hard it will come off clean without too much difficulty. Then take out the screws that hold the screen inside and it should drop out.
