To check the freon which is actually called refrigerant, (freon is just a brand name) you would need a set of gauges. But to buy refrigerant you need to be EPA certified. You would also need to find the leak and repair it. Are you sure the compressor is even running? You can usally here it kick on after the fan comes on.

How do you make your old wall air conditioners blow refridgerated air again?

I'm pretty sure those work just like the AC unit in a home or car/truck/SUV. If they are low on Freon the cooling unit (compressor) will not engage...so the air that it IS blowing is just recirculated air (the air from the room). Try looking for a HVAC company in your air...see if they can give you a (free) estimate. If it's not the Freon, then it's possible it could be the compressor is bad.
Good luck!

Not staying cool

sounds like it is either low on Freon or the compressor is going out. The blowing ice cold is an indicator that it may be freezing up because the low Freon. when it stops blowing cold, turn it to fan only mode and see if it gets colder again. If that is the case then the unit is low on freon and freezing up. I know that sounds confusing but that is how AC works. The low freon pressure means the gas is expanding too fast and the air flow cannot take up the cold from the evaporator fast enough. Turning the compressor off and keeping the fan on will alow the room air to take up the cold.

My air conditioner is not blowing cold air, what would cause this?

MOST COMMON IS THE FILTER COULD BE CLOGGED. NEXT THE COMPRESSOR COULD BE LOW IN FREON. WINDOW AC'S LEAK REFRIGERANT IN OUNCES OR LBS PER YEAR. USUALLY SHOULD BE CHECK EVERY 5 YEARS FOR PRESSURES.

Water coming into residence, front of ac icing up and doesn't appear to be blowing cold air..

Hi,
The icing up can come from a dirty air filter or from the unit leaking freon and being low on charge...
The other way to freeze it is to try and make the room too cold...
check the filter... don't try to get the room colder then say 70 and if it still freezes then you have a problem...

The A/C is not blowing cool air

You can tell if freon is needed ,if you feel the coil, near the filter, all over,if it is not getting cold all over after 20 minutes of running, then it needs freon, make sure the coils are not dirty, and stopped up,before checking the evaporator (the one inside near wear the filter goes)

Air conditioner doesn't blow cold air. Continues

If the a/c fails to continue to blow cold there could be a few problems you can look for. First once you activate the system check to see if the compressor kicks in. You will hear the compressor humming . Once the a/c quits cooling go and see if the compressor is still running. If its not running its probibly gone into thermal overload (compressor overheated). If that is the case then you need to check to see if the coils are icing up if they are icing up then the problem is with 1) air flow restriction filter dirty, coils dirty simple repairs there replace filter, clean evaporator coil with a coil cleaner that can be purchased at a home repair store cleaning the condensor coil the same. 2) system is low on freon in which case the system will need to be recharged. Also, If you have a digital thermostat replace the batteries that may also be of some help. Good Luck on repairs

No cold air blowing from RUDD UPKA_)$#JAZ

A few things to check; Clean filter, make sure none of your ducts have blown loose in attic area, or under house. If neither problem exists check to make sure your compressor is kicking on, it makes a deeper toned noise than fan motor. If it's not coming on, call A\C company, preferably the installer to check it out. Good luck.

Air Con Unit Not cooling the room

Alright, I'm obviously not there, but you could be low on refrigerant/Freon, and what is more likely, your AC is suffering from some sort of obstruction or debris, as noted in this handy diagnostic article that explains how it could cause your AC not to blow as cold air as you would like:

Hope this helps.
Brad
P.S. As to the loss of your operating manual, try to see if you can get another one directly from the manufacturer by contacting it.
