Not reading anymore DVD movies disc or CD musics disc. The DVD laser eye head reader it is dead. Can't be repair must be replaced, not worth it well cost the same price as a new DVD player unit,if repair by a tech and have to buy parts for it.Basic DVD player unit are very cheap these day.U can buy a new one just a basic DVD player only will cost u like $40.
Symptom: Unit will not power up at all. Power indicator doesn't work. or after inserting disk, screen says "loading disk" but then says "bad disk". Solution: This problem is usually caused by a bad 5Volt power supply. Check the 5V output of the power supply board. The output plug is clearly marked. If this 5V is less than 4V, the unit will not operate. This is caused by defective filter capacitors in the 5V supply. These caps are easily identified. Replace these two with the same values and the 5V should return to normal. Note: Because of the confined spaces on the board, only use caps that are of the same physical size. Capacitors are made in a varity of hights and diameters with the same electrical specifications. Do not try to pigtail a larger cap in circuit. The circuit will not work correctly. I can supply these if you can not find them locally.
It sounds like a common problem with these units, which is easily fixed...
Open the unit and look at the capacitors on the power supply circuit
board, there are probably some bulging or leaking caps on it, just
replace them and you should be good to go. You should replace them with
a little higher voltage but keep the same micro-farad value. ie: use a
16volt in place of a 12volt.
i have repaired a couple of these cyberhome dvd players-if you are getting a no disc,it is because of a defective disc table motor or bad flex connector(between lens & circuit board).if your unit is not powering up, you should check the power supply board in the unit(.there are capacitors that go bad) i recomend these checks be made by a tech. rkelecworks.
