Question about Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-36XBR800 36" TV
I have a Sony Triniton, I think it is the 36in model, and it will not turn on. When you go to turn it on it makes the sound like it is going to come on , but it does not. I will wait a while sometimes and try again and nothing happen. There is a red blinking light that indicated stand by, and will blnk for 6 or 7 times. Do you have any ideas on this problem? Thanks
The power supply is in the protect mode. This is most likely a scan amplifier failure. Most of the time it would be in the horizontal output section. If the CRT is shorted, or there is a failure in the vertical section, this type of error will show. When there are scan amplifier failures, sometimes the power supply is also damaged and requires service.
