Be sure to cycle thru the input selections-- either w/Remote (input button), or channel +/- on the panel. my truflat 26" hd set has side/front/video1 video2 inputs, yours may have more or less. also, be sure you've plugged into an INPUT set, not an OUTPUT set. Does sound work otherwise on this set? If not, maybe interal speakers (menu setting) is set to off/not checked.

And on your PS3--goto the settings menu, sound outputs, make sure you select A/V connector and analog sound. The ps3 cable can become sloppy too, wiggle/check/reseat or try another cabe (usually video is touchy more than the sound though)

If you KNOW you've got the right input selected and the PS3 is setup properly, do you have another device with audio output to test on the TV? a notebook computer, walkman, cd player--anything that has rca outputs for sound--quick swap the cables to the new 'test' device-- if sound is OK with test device, either PS3 setting or cable is bad/wrong. if no sound from test device on TV either the tv is not using proper inputs, or is damaged, or the test device is not properly configured. If you have another input receiving device to test the ps3 output sound, like the LINE INPUT on a notebook computer, or a boombox with Aux inputs, test the PS3 sound output too.

sorry for long initial solution post, sounds like a video input seletion poblem on the tv. I get unuseable signal when I'm on tuner or component inputs selected but with no device attached to specific component or coax connection. cycle thru video inputs--use remote's Input button. Or, try hitting channel + to get past all the cable channels--then it'll start changing the input with channel+ panel button. RCA yellow for video is going to be something like Video 1, video two, side, or front. definitely NOT Component. Also, tough to do without a display, but the PS3 must be set for A/V cable (rca/svideo) selection on the settings...Video section. If this tv has component inputs (Red/Blue/Green aka Y,pb,pr), get a PS2 or Ps3 Component output cable!!! Can be found for $10-20 new, cheaper even used or clearance--HDTV via component cable--maybe not HDMI at 1080P, but VERY impressive at 720p or 1080i or even 540p--it's how a PS3 NEEDS to be seen. I didn't even know some of the detail I was missing when only using SVID/RCA--you'll love it.

How do I get the input to work for the PS3 on a a RCA truflat tv, the cords are connected properly, we tried all the inputs. now what?

If the PS3 was hooked up to another TV, perhaps with the HDMI, the PS3 needs to be reset. With the PS3 off, press and hold the Power button for approx. 10-15 seconds until it beeps again. This should provide picture/sound through the A/V cable. Hope this helps.

Unusable signal

Usually need a second receiver. Cannot just split signal. With some cable providers you can split the cable before it hits the cable box for basic cable channels.

Suggest contacting Cable Company if does not work.

Thanks!

Don't pass the video sample through the Onkio.. Use a second single RCA patch cord to go from vcr to TV... Use the same yellow out on the vcr that you're using now and send it directly to the yellow video input you're using on the TV..
Hope that's clear - I'm getting tired...

Unusable Signal

You may have IB001 going bad, it is RCA P/N 263568, and should have TDA6107q labeled on the IC which should consist of 9 pins soldered into the PC Board and attached to an aluminum heat sink. It is a video IC and could be going bad unless you have a defective solder connection somewhere causing this symptom.
