Computer will reboot on Virus/Spyware scan at random. I have: 1. Installed clean XP SP2 parallel system and booted that one. Same problem. 2. Memory Test at boot time is OK. 3. Air circulation from Power...

The weak airflow from the power supply unit (PSU) is suspect. Virus / Malware scanning is a disk and processor intensive operation - resulting in greater load on both. Increased load translates to heat. Check to be sure that the processor (CPU) fan is running, too. An overheating PSU and CPU can cause all types of problems.

Are you using a genuine XP install disk/image or a disk of questionable origin? Use of bogus OS disks is "asking for trouble".

If your system BIOS or set up (accessed during boot) allows, try to located the page that displays component temperatures and fan speeds. Check this immediately after rebooting from a an unplanned shut down - if unable to locate this set up page, download HWMonitor at:

http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

It is a free program - choose the 32 or 64 bit version. Note fan RPM and CPU core temps to help determine where heat is coming from - or which fans aren't operating correctly.

Intel dg31pr mother board why dont show display?

First check your num lock led if it on and off when you press num lock key then your cpu is ok.
Then therer is issue with monitor to cpu loose connection
or
Screen resolution problem.
For that when you power up press F8 key then enter in enable vga mode.then go to control panel and dispaly then settings then change screeen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
Aslo reconnect connection from monitor to cpu vga port.
Also check in bios some times your harddisk is not detected proeprly.
If problem still remains open cpu cabinet and reconnect data cable and power cable to harddisk.
Refix RAM memory.
Pull cmos cell for 15 minutes then check.

Trying to install xp on a vista

First, have you deleted Vista, or are you trying a dual boot?

Second, you do not have to disable your HDD or you cannot do the installation!

For a step by step procedure to install XP on a Vista computer (dual boot), please check here:
http://www.syschat.com/dual-boot-vista-xp-vista-already-1946.html
or
http://apcmag.com/how_to_dual_boot_vista_and_xp_with_vista_installed_first__the_stepbystep_guide.htm

I do not recommend removing Vista completely,if that is what your laptop/PC came with, as most components and drivers installed will be Vista specific. If you need to have XP, make sure you have all the drivers for XP first.

To change attributes click right button of mouse on folder, chose properies, at the bottom of properties box you have the attributes.

MY PACKARD BELL PIV HAS N1996 MOTHER BOARD I cant see any display on my screen when i turn on my computer. But it looks it has read all the information from harddisk and loaded the operating system. but on screen i cant see any raster i.e. display.

First At this time u observe one thing check the Numlock Status if it is ON/OFF (Glow ) in Keyboard when u pressing the  Numlock key, the system is giving display check with pci vga card.

If not u  remove the Ram module and heard the Beepsound,if Beep is comming Clean the Ram & Ram slot the try it again
If not check with another Ram module.

If it is also not problem u clear the CMOS once and check it
