The instruction manual says:
If the safety device incorporated in the plug trips and cuts off the power supply, check that the power cable and plug are not damaged. If the power cable is undamaged, to restore operation press the RESET button.   To verify the correct operation of the plug, press the TEST button periodically and make sure the appliance disconnects.  If this is not the case, contact the service center. To restore operation, press the RESET button.

Addendum:  I had found your post under the Delonghi Pinguino PACL90 problem list.  I did not notice that your unit was not a Pinguino until AFTER I posted the solution.  I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Could this keep the air conditioner running and trip the breaker

Air conditioner may draw high current. It may trip the cirucuit breaker. You may check the current rating of the air conditioner. If it is higher than the circuit breaker rating, it surely will trip. If it is close but lower, it may trip as there may be other appliances connected.

The breaker keep tripping

When you get a new air-conditioner it should be standard practice to call an electrician and have a designated plug installed with its own breaker that has been calculated with the correct wire size and amperage for the breaker. When you use a common plug that may already have 5 or 10 amps being used on that circuit and you add a 12 or 14 amp appliance to the system you are going to have troubles.

Why does the reset button on my air conditioner keep popping out when i plug it in

You are tripping that outlet's breaker. Either too much is on that breaker and circuit or that circuit is not big enough, enough current to power that unit.

Breaker keeps tripping on outside air conditioner unit

The compressor is probably drawing to many amps. Breaker could be weak also.. Need to check the amp draw on the compressor.

If the breaker is hot when it blows, the compressor is probably going bad.

My Amana heat pump model PHD60C02F1 Keeps tripping the circuit breaker

Is this kicking the ground fault on the cord or the breaker. If it trips breaker could be bad breaker. If it trips quickly it is a short in the unit. Russ
