Question about PfaFF Creative 7570
Hello! I purchased a slightly used Pfaff 6122 sewing machine. The previous owner is presently trying to search for the manual - in the meantime, I have decided to use this and love it. I am finding though that the thread breaks midway through sewing (regular sewing only), the top front dials are at '0', I assume one is tension, the other is connected with the type of sewing desired (I am just using straight stitch set on "G"). This has less than 50 hours of sewing.....any suggestions? It seems that the thread is being pulled through two thinner plates and shredding the outer layer of the thread...could you help?
I have the book on that machine as well and I have had that problem. Here is what had happened to me: I was soooooo tired of that shreading thing that I took a flashlight and aimed it up the nose of the machine by the lightbulb and fould there to be a nice little rats nest wrapped around the take-up lever and the needle bar. I spent the next three hours getting to that nest with the skinniest and longest tools I could find. Oh it is was fun!

You might want to use a better grade of thread.
