Unplug oven. Discharge Caps- if you don't know how to do this stop here and call a professional.

push the small red reset switch rear lower corner of oven. IR is a little higher than i like to see.

Test electrical compartment thermal-couple. located under top cover about 2 inches from the rear in center.

Test Electrical compartment cooling fan.

EC Thermocouple (P/N 700-1199)
Type K Thermocouple. Thermocouple measures the
temperature of the electrical compartment. If the
temperature within the electrical compartment is
above 158?F (70?C), the control displays F6: EC
TEMP. The control board checks the EC temperature
every 60 seconds.

I bought my turbochef NGCEW ex Subway. It heats up no problem and then shows the Subway menus but I can't seem to access the edit menu. Also, some of the keys don't beep when I press

This might help you out:

http://www.basequipment.com/v/service/TurboChef/NGC.pdf

It's a service manual for the TurboChef NGC Tornado.

Pay particular attention to pages 15 through 19. It shows you how to edit menus and to reset everything.

Good luck!

F8 code; IR element will not heat up

If you are getting convection heat. I would say it is a bad IR element. Visually inspect the IR element. Sometimes the wires going into the side will be burned and broken. You could also check continuity going through the IR element or ohm it out.
It is rare for those relays not to provide heat. Ive had a bunch stick on. Put anything is possible.

I have an Turbochef NGC oven that keeps tripping the breaker. There are no faults but seems to only trip the breaker when the sausage setting is entered.

Hi,
BEFORE WORKING ON OVEN MAKE SURE YOU TURN IT OFF AND DISCHARGE CAPACITOR.IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN STOP HERE AND CALL TECHNICIAN.
If you know how to use multimeter than check the resistance of Convenctional heater and the IR element.
CC heater .....not sure how many ohms
IR should be 14 ohms
If both are in specification then replace breaker(thermostat in the oven).
Usually if breaker trips 4-5 times then its good to replace it.

Hi,
F6 faults occured when temperature reached to 150 degree faharanite in the electrical compartment.
Solutions
1. Clean the dust in the electrical compartment.
2. There is an temperature sensor on the controle board which gets dirty and throw wrong values.Clean it and then try.
3. Check the exaust fan in the top rear location is working properly.
4.Check for proper air ventillation.

I am working on an NGC subway oven and the store manager told me it would only heat up half way

Check the IR element. check the heaters. check the high limit switch on the back of the oven. Usually the IR element will have burned wires where it enters the oven and will need replacing.

I have NGC tornado Turbochef, it is toasting too

the subway ovens are supposed to be around 1000 dont change any of the settings if you think you are having programming issues speak to your field rep and ask them to reprogram your oven. they have a smart card for doing this. it will give you all the latest buttons including hashbrowns and breakfast stuff.

most common problem with toasting to dark is that you are using the wrong buttons

try cooking the next sandwich on the 1meat hotwell setting and select the sandwich size. you will notice the sandwich cooks much lighter.

if you cook using the combo subs button this could be your problem. most of the time re-training is just needed
