Question about Samsung BD-P1400 Blu-Ray Player

1 Answer

No Signal When I put a disc in, the samsung blueray logo appears (as usual) & then the screen goes black, with the exception of the no signal sign on the tv screen.  The player is playing, the numbers are counting off, and the hdmi is plugged in properly, but there is no picture/sound.

This happens to me as well, but usually at the end of the disc. It will be playing fine and then toward the end of the movie the the picture will cut in and out, audio can still be heard, but the picture will cut out for a few seconds. I have stopped this by juming ahead a chapter and the back. Any thoughts?

Firmware updates are common, but his does not sound like it. Get warranty repair.
You can try an update, but if the unit cannot read a disc, it may not be able to update. Magnavox is made by Funai, check here.

Cannot record on Sansui VRDVD4005

Usually this would signal a bad disc, but if the discs have been known to be good, then your lens may be failing.

No connection/ no signal

Either the new BlueRay player is defective, the HDMI port on the player is defective, or the port on your set is defective.

Try connecting it with component RGB/AV cables, or S-Video/AV cables and see if everything works. If so, then you know that it is either the port on the BlueRay, or the port on the TV set.

To test the HDMI port on your TV, you will need another HDMI device to try.

Model DRC 8310 RCA VCR/DVD player/recorder combo.

Did you put a splitter onto the cable signal? If yes, the signal is attenuated to much and there simply isn't enough signal for the recorder to decode. Call your cable company and request a signal amplifier be placed on your line. It's usually free.
