Question about Sony MHC-EC70 Shelf System

1 Answer

CD tray "Locked"

Thank you so much for answering!!
Unfortunately I cannot find any transportation lock. All I see are screws..
Can the unlocking be given by a combination of different buttons at the same time?

I hope you have a great day.

"Locked" CD does not come out

Turn off the power, and then hold down the "stop" button on the actual system (not the remote). While you're holding down "stop," push the "eject" button on the system and it should say "unlocked." If ever for some crazy reason you might want your tray to lock again, just do the exact same thing until it says "locked."

I have this problem all the time and it's sooooo annoying. It just seems to happen randomly every now and then.

CD trays locked

You mean ejecting a CD on a portable CD player or a regular cd player. Some CD players have a hold or lock function, try reaching for your players manual and read through the CD lock function.

FW-R7 displays "Locked" when attempting to open CD Trays

You were close, but didn't explain it very well. If you push on the 'DISPLAY' button (left side of machine as you are facing it, about half way down) when the unit is off, it will say something like "DEALER MODE", push it again to return it to regular mode. You may have to press and hold the button to get it to display 'DEALER MODE', then when everything is normal, "DEALER MODE" just goes off and isn't replaced by anything. Hope I explained it well. nyati585@aol.com

CD tray doesn't open

if the unit actually tries to open but does not, it is not locked. a locked unit does not even try to open. it sound like a mechanical misalignment. take it back to get a new one, since it's only 2 days old.

Locked Cd Tray

The solution is to turn the machine onto standy and then hold the 'display' button for a few seconds, and voila, the trays are unlocked... geni-arse!
