Jvc xlr 2010 cd burner

Purchased in '01. Recording side began to grind, eventually failed.
Recently repaired, but still grinds at the beginning of a recording. Recordings come out perfect, no damage to the cd. The jvc repair facility said the machine is ok. Is the grinding a preview of future failure?

I have the same problem.
