You need to open the printer and see the ink level.

Reintal again if you have the dvd if it comes dell.com site and you can find all you need

GO to add scanner utility and try to add the scanner if it ask for the driver insert the disk.

Make sure that the scanner is level and not twisted as this will put unnecessary strain on the scanner frame and pulleys. If your system has springs on the pulley cables then this may be the cause of the problem as they may be worn out or chafing or rusted and need replacing.

Also make sure that the guide rails are not obstructed and brush them out and clean thoroughly and if necessary carefully apply some silicone grease to them.

Also check that the carriage assembly is not bent or twisted which will put unnecessary strain on the drive mechanism and pulleys.

Also check that the pulleys are not bent or the pulley mounts are not bent.

Yes, manually set your paper size using A4 or begin with A4 and leave it on auto (default) it will try and match it.

Instructions...

• Press Menu
• Option 1
• Option 2
• Select copy Setup
• Select paper size
• Hit the black triangle until the size you want displays
• Then hit enter.

If the HP 6110xi is directly connected to the Desktop Computer, then on the desktop in the control panel and under printers and faxes, find your printer and right click on it and choose sharing.
Choose share this printer and give it a short name with no spaces. You should see a hand in the icon now. Giving the network a little time, the laptop should pickup the shared printer.

I also have this problem. Try going to
-Start
-Programs
-Accessories
-Scanner and Camera Wizard.

I can get my scanner to work through the wizard when it won't work by just pressing the scan button on the printer.
