Hi Elmiragez

In order to open the E-4000 chassis, you have to press a button that blends in with the rest of the system's front panel. Once open you will be able to get to memory and all. The button does blend in with the system's front panel.

Hope this is your answers your question an solves it?

    Hi Elmiragez

Just remembered you never did mention which style of E4000 this was and being it comes in three style types. Here are the instructions for all three types being I do not know which one you have. Sorry for the confusion but I want to makesure I give the best. This should cover it now.

    1. Mid Tower case - Tower size. White and Black Color. Has an access door on the front that covers the drive bays and other components.

Push in on the cover release handle - It is on the top of the case on the left side (looking from front) about 4 inches from the front. In the black grove area on top. It takes some finger strength to push in.

    2. Micro Tower case - Small Size. White and Black Color. Has a removable base and a silver bezel.

If your computer is standing in the base, lift up on the front of the computer case, then pull the case forward and off the base. Push in on the cover release handle (Black Rectangular button on the front of the case left about 3 inches from the bottom, looking from front.) Lift the side panel up.

    3. 4-bay Small Form Factor case - Tall and thin. Solid Black. Has a removable stand and a black bezel.

If your computer is standing in the base, lift your computer and pull the base away from the computer. Place your computer on its side with the rubber feet resting on your workspace. If your case cover has a case cover shipping screw installed on the back of the case, remove the screw. (Big black screw on the right side of the case on the back, looking from back.) Brace your thumbs on the rear of the chassis, then pull the case cover towards you. Lift the case cover away from the chassis.

Apparently there are three-or-so different case types for that model. This PDF shows how to remove the case (after removing the one shipping screw from the rear).

Go to page 106 of the article for a starter.

If your PC is the above (Press link)

It has a Sound card.

If you need a Ethernet controller you have to buy a PCI one (there are cheap) , open the PC case
and place it to one PCI accomodation.

Check all of the other connections all around where you was at. Sometimes it dont take much to knock one of them loose. Also take the chip backn out and take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the chip with it.

How to add memory to my pc gm5472

You need to open the case and see how many sticks of memory are in the slots. Your machine should come with 2GB. (probably 2 1-GB sticks)
If you are running a 32-bit system, it's useless to increase the memory above 3 GB, as the system will not see it. For a 64 bit system, you can add a lot more.

Want to add memory to Gateway 700x

Max memory is 2GB, i.e. 1GB per slot(DIMM), so you will need 2 X (SimpleTech 1 GB PC3200 400MHz DDR RAM). {Always use matched pairs only}
