Hi sandesh8, did you know you can increase the memory size of the onboard AGP card above the 64MB? Page 26 in you're manual. If you install another AGP card into the opened AGP slot, please go to this site & only use the recomended AGP cards in the Asrock list. Click on this link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/vga.asp?Model=P4i45GV%20R5.0&s=478&c=VGA
This is one of very few video cards found on the list with 256MB of video memory.

Good Luck!

What would be the best compatible 512 MB GPU(with shader 3 or 4) working with P4I45GV 3.00 /P4 2.4 GHZ/1 Gb ram ?

http://www.asrock.com/MB/overview.asp?Model=P4i45GV%20R5.0

Any of them Shubham.

If we are to discern by a few known statements;

1) It is believed in some 'geek communities', that using the same manufacturer of motherboard chipset, and graphics chipset; to be a good thing.

For example an AMD motherboard chipset 'plays well' with an AMD ATI graphics chipset;

Nvidia motherboard chipset 'plays well' with Nvidia graphics chipset.

Intel motherboard chipset with Intel graphics..............no wait,....... there is no Intel graphics chipset, unless it is -> Integrated Graphics.
[ Intel GMA ]

(Integrated Graphics is also said as OnBoard graphics. ON the motherBOARD)

2) DOES NOT MATTER what graphics memory type is used.

Motherboard can use DDR Sdram ram memory, and graphics card can use GDDR5.

Why?
Because the graphics card has it's own Processor, and Ram Memory.

Graphics Processing Unit, or GPU; is the Processor,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

Graphics memory is the ram memory.

Operates independent of the system resources.
Processor, and Ram Memory.

The graphics expansion slot on the P4I45GV (P4 i 45GV), is an AGP slot.
Accelerated Graphics Port,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGP

It will use an AGP 4X, or AGP 8X graphics card.
Use an AGP 8X.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/search.asp?keywords=agp+graphics+card+512mb

REMEMBER;

1) ALWAYS follow Anti-Static Precautions.

2) INSTALL the software for the graphics card F-I-R-S-T,
(Drivers and 'control panel')

THEN unplug the computer from power, follow Anti-Static Precautions, and Physically plug the graphics card into the motherboard, and install.

3) L@@k at the system requirements (Minimum) for the graphics card.
Specifically the Power Supply requirements. You need a Power Supply with enough Wattage, to handle the graphics card.

[ Handles the graphics card, and -> Motherboard, Processor, Ram Memory, and peripherals; Internal and External.
{Harddrive/s, optical drive/s; Internal
Mouse, Keyboard, external harddrive, etc; External ]

I have asrock p4i45gv r5.0 motherboard and want to ask if it supports ati raedon 6850 graphics card or not?

The AsRock P4I45GV revision 5.0 motherboard uses an Intel 845GV motherboard chipset.
There is one AGP slot on the motherboard, used for a graphics card.

http://www.asrock.com/MB/overview.asp?Model=P4i45GV%20R5.0

2) Information on the Intel 845GV chipset,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_intel_chipsets#Pentium_4_chipsets

Looking down the column on the left side until we come to - 845GV, and looking across, we see under the heading Graphics that Integrated Graphics is supported. No mention of AGP support.

But AsRock has implemented it's own technology of A.G.I. at an 8x speed.
(For the Intel 845GV chipset)

A.G.I.
AsRock Graphic Interface,

http://www.asrockamerica.com/AGI8x.htm

This means that graphics cards that use the AGP 8X technology, or AGP 4X technology, can be used. (AGP4X/8X)

Advanced Graphics Port,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AGP

Using Sapphire's version of the ATI Radeon 6850 as an example, we can see this graphics card uses the newer technology - PCI-Express

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908

(Doesn't natter WHO makes it, the graphics card is still based on the ATI G.P.U.
Graphics Processing Unit. Or in slang terminology; the graphics chipset)

It also uses the newest version of PCI-Express, the PCI-Express 3.0 technology.

Information on PCI-Express,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

Short answer to your question?
No

Your AsRock motherboard is set up to support AGP graphics cards that use either the AGP 4X technology, or AGP 8X technology.

Does not support graphics cards based on the PCI-Express technology.

How to find ASROCK PRESCOTT 533 P4i45GV (Audio & VGA) Driver, please help me.

Hi Arabinda

ASROCK P4I45GV P4/845GV MOTHERBOARD AUDIO / VGA DRIVERS

You don't say which Operating System you use, so my answer will be presented in general, Windows terms. If yours is a non-Windows Operating System and my answer seems to be of some relevance to you, please consider applying the logic and principles involved here to your own Operating System and, if in doubt, please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the Operating System. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

The drivers available for the ASRock P4I45GV P4/845GV Motherboard are available for free download from the official ASRock Downloads and Drivers Support Website here:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P4i45GV%20R3.0

Please note that this motherboard appears to support only Win 2000 and Win XP. If your Operating System is not included in this list, then it is highly probable that no Audio or VGA Drivers exist for that Operating System. If you are committed to both this Motherboard and an unsupported Operating System, then consider buying and installing internal Sound and Graphics Cards that are pre-confirmed as being compatible with your Operating System. Both can be relatively inexpensive.

The term "Drivers" is meaningless without associating it with an Operating System and a specific item of Hardware. Although drivers seem to mainly be about hardware, they are actually primarily about software. The Driver does not physically control the Motherboard's Devices. The Operating System and (to a lesser extent) the BIOS do that. What the Driver does (just like a human interpreter for a guest who speaks a different language from his host), is to introduce the Device to the Operating System and help them to communicate with each other, with the Driver taking instructions from both and passing it back and forth between them. So when one mentions Drivers, one must also mention the Operating System it will be talking to. In order for that to be possible, the two must share a common language. If they do not, then the role of 'interpreter' is impossible, because, then neither the Driver nor the Device will be able to understand what the Operating System is saying and vice versa.

I hope this helps.

Which latest Graphic card can be supported by my Asrock P4i45GV?

Hi

Any video card that supports AGP x8 Should work on this motherboard.

For example Nvidia 7800 GS AGP or 7600 GS AGP should work fine.

But a better investment would be to upgrade the motherboard to a PCI-E supporting board and possibly AMD Dual or Triple / quad core processor the ram is very cheap for DDR2 these days.

Upgrade would be best in long run.
