Sandisk sansa mp3 2 gig pink player

My player will only play one song then turn off. i have charged it for 2 nites straight and it still doesnt work! please help!!

Hi,love to help out, but can not know exactly what happened to the mp3 player before it went off, so am going to give you steps to troubleshoot your mp3 player..

Power Problems

Try recharging the battery if the MP3 player is not turning on. To recharge the battery, connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the MP3 player and the other end to an open USB port on your computer. The Sandisk MP3 player will begin charging.
Try turning the player back on. If it does not turn on, perform a reset. To do this, press and hold the "Power/Menu" button for at least 15 seconds.

Turn the player back on.


Press the "Menu" button if the player keeps turning off periodically. Select the "Settings" option in the Menu and select "Power."


Select "Auto Power Off" and turn off the sleep settings.
Play and Display Problems


Connect your Sandisk to the computer. The computer will automatically recognize it as a new device.


Double-click "My Computer" on the desktop. You will see your MP3 player's icon listed as a removal disk together with other removal devices.


Double-click the MP3 player's icon. Double-click the "Music" folder. You will see all the songs uploaded on your player. Right-click the music file that is not playing and click "Properties." In the "Properties" window, you should see which format the music file is in. If it is not an MP3, WMA or WAV, it will not play. Only upload music files of these formats.

Right-click a music file that displays "Unknown artist/album" and click "Properties." Click the "Summary" tab and click "Advanced." Input the data you want, such as the song title, album, artist and year. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Sansa Fuze skips songs


Same problem with my sansa fuze 8 gig It skips over songs instead of playing them.

MP3 not playing the songs and gets restarted


You can try to reset the device by pressing the power button for about 15 to 20 seconds..if that doesnt work I would recommend you to go to the sandisk site to update the firmware on your device or you can contact sandisk to they can help you with updating the firmware on your device..Please follow the link below to get the firmware

Could be a hardware issue requiring replacement, but try every "soft" fix first:

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

My Sansa e250R, 2 gigs, froze. Help!


It seems like your E250R is experiencing a temporary system error due to a corrupted song, and needs to be reset. Try to "Soft Reset" your player, press and hold the "Menu" button until the LCD light and scroll wheel light turn off. Since the player was probably left on for more than 7 hours (as you indicated), you would need to re-charge the player before proceeding further. Charge it for at least 2-3 hours. Next, try to format the player to rid of any corruption then re-transfer the songs. If you have subscription songs, then I would suggest to delete the song you last played which caused the error. I hope this helps. There is another solution for the player, but for now this might actually resolve the issue. Let me know the results. :)
