Question about Kenwood KDC-MP528 CD Player
?Error message? or simply status report. "High Frequency Disconnect" continually shows on display. I can't find reference to this in my instruction manual.
Is it something I need to fix, or if not needed, how do I keep it from showing?
This is a very unusual problem. I have been repairing Kenwood radios for over 17 years and have never seen this on any display. You should probably reset the system by pressing the reset button located to the right of the "6" preset button. You may be required to enter your security code and if you do not have that code, you will need to clear the code. I can tell you how if you need it, but don't reset the unit until you find out how to clear the code if needed. You need the remote to clear the code also.
Pressing the reset will reset all setting to factory presets. You need to press it with something very small, like the tip of a ink pen or the like. The reset button is not labeled and is very small. Just a tiny circular indentation on the display.
If this does not work, you need the unit serviced. There is nothing I have ever seen that will clear that type of error, since I have never seen that error.
Let me know if you need any more help.
