Mitsubishi 46" HDTV Shut off wont turn back on, red light appears and wont turn off with remote we have to unplug. We live in rural area and don't no where to get repairs done.
We hav contacted both Mitsubishi and Circuit City, they have been NO help.
Anything you can do would be of great service,
Thank you so much
One of the most common reasons why this may occur is if your TV has encountered a recent power fluctuation/surge or has detected any kind of unusual feedback. As a safety precaution, many newer TV's will automatically shut themselves down whenever either of these are encountered. Many models will have one or more lights on the front of their case that may blink if this has happened. According to information from the manufacturer, simply pressing the "System Reset" button on the TV should resolve this kind of issue. If the problem persists however, you may wish to try using a different AC line power conditioner/surge protector.
If the TV doesn't turn on at all, this can also be an indicator that the bulb or lamp in the TV has burned out. Please keep in mind however, that it is generally best to double-check with your owner's manual documentation for confirmation of what any steady/blinking light means.
Additionally, Mitsubishi has indicated that if the "Status" light is either steady or flashing red you may need to contact a factory-authorized repair facility for service.
If you have not had any luck working with either Mitsubishi itself or Circuit City, remember that you can always contact a Best Buy™ representative for further assistance. If we don't have a repair tech in your area, Best Buy™ would be glad to locate a factory-authorized third-party service center on your behalf.
