The NAT settings are in the game (console) it self, NOT in the router... The NAT term for a router is Network Address Translation... I don't know who had the bright idea to use the term NAT for game settings but he was an IDIOT... I think the term NAT in the gaming world is for controlling user access nothing to do with Network Address Translation of a router.... your router uses NAT to Translate IP addressing from the WAN side to the LAN side (OK this might be to technical for you) but in other words it is what the router uses to Translate the traffic from the WEB to your HOME NETWORK... nothing to do with gaming what so ever...
I dont undestand your question to well, NAT stands for (Network Address Translation) examle, your router has a LAN IP address of let say 192.168.1.1 and has a WAN IP address of let say 22.214.171.124 than for the traffic to be able to flow trough the WAN side to the LAN side the router NAT's the traffic from one side to the other, PORTS on the other hand are to let a spesific service trough the FIREWALL on the WAN side to a sepsific machine on the LAN side, since NAT is not a service, I dont think you need to open anny ports in your router's FIREWALL to play or modify a setting in the console. As for the game (I'm not an expert) but i think it uses the term NAT for some sort of filter to filter out un wanted players I think (nothing to do with Network Adress Translation or PORTS)
You are trying to open the NAT on the router for X-box. For this you will need to reduce the MTU settings on the router to 1365. You will also need to trigger some ports on the router. For this you will need to open the router set up page. Router set up page is the page where you can change the settings of the router Click Here to know more about router and network
NAT is a protocol for networking. Network Address Translation was developed to keep from running out of IP addresses. When your Internet Service Provider gives you service they give you 1 IP address which would only allow one device to be hooked to they internet. NAT allows you to assign private IP addresses to each device in your home and then translates it back to the one address your ISP provided to you. Linksys routers typically have this set by default. Are you plugging your XBOX to your Linksys router or are you using wireless adapter?
How do you connect your Linksys router to Belkin router? Do you connect your Linksys router to the Internet/WAN port of the Belkin?
If so, what is the Internet connection type set in your Belkin router? Is it dynamic?
If the Belkin router is set to dynamic IP and if it is obtaining an IP address from your Linksys router(you may check the status page of your Belkin router and look for IP address), then you may need to forward or set that IP address as the DMZ to your Linksys router. Make sure that XBOX is still configured as the DMZ host in your Belkin
there is something known as NAT strict that can happen due to many reasons , NAT or network address translator helps in converting the WAN ip address to LAN side IP address or public to private ipaddress . In a case of NAT strict or no NAT type ur PS3 or the router to which you have connected the PS3 is not able to convert the IP address... Solution: try logging on to the router manager or PS3 settings and enable the NAT ( it would be in a disabled state or DMZ ( de militarized zone ) state ).... If the nat is already enabled Then try to manually configure NAT by opening the port numbers on the router manager or PS3. Port numbers can of UP or TCP protocol depending upon the games ur tyring to play.... If u donno how u do it then contact sony or the people who gave u the router or ur ISP
