Suction only comes out from hose attachment but nothing fron the bottom

Check All hoses and areas that the dirt goes through. Sounds like a plugged spot. Especially the dirt picker upper at the floor. All areas.

My Dirt Devil en vision hose has good suction but zero suction at the bottom. Clean filter,no clogs.i know replacing the broken belt will make the brush turn. Will it enable suction also?

If you have fixed the suction at the bottom, a new tight belt is important when vacuuming carpeted floors. Belts lose elasticity from being stretched which is why they need replaced frequently.

Not picking up. No suction

Make sure good suction at the end of hose and no clogs in tube hose goes into at bottom of vacuum. If good make sure belt is new and brush roll spins fast when lowered onto carpet. It may need clutch adjusted or rubber pad replaced.

Plenty of suction from the hose pipe itself but no suction when vacuuming the carpet

Hello Can,

Go through this guide to help find the issue www.builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html. You should have suction without a filter. The bottom is on the unit, right? It needs to be air tight.

Lost suction from cleaning dyson roller brush

Hello,

This is actually a very common problem that we see for repair on Dyson Vacuums. Usually what happens is that the vacuum doesn't loose suction like most people think. You can test this by feeling the suction power on the hose. If you have suction coming from here, then most likely the machine isn't clogged.

What happens is that the bottom soleplate on the vacuum cleaner can easily be re-installed the incorrect way. If this happens the brushes on the vacuum cleaner can not even hit the carpet, which makes the vacuum feel like it's not picking up, but when the suction is tested from the hose it has plenty.

We see a lot of Dysons come in for repair with this problem. The bottom plate is not flush with the rest of the vacuum cleaner. Here's a picture of what an improperly installed bottom soleplate looks like:

When the bottom plate is put back on the vacuum, you should make sure that the bottom plate (the purple colored part in the picture) is flush with the agitator housing tray (red part in the picture). If not, the brushes will not hit the carpeting, and the vacuum won't really pick up anything.

This is how a correctly installed bottom soleplate should look like:

This should be the first thing you should check on your vacuum cleaner as it's the easiest and most common solution. If this doesn't fix your Dyson, please just use the Clarification Request form, and let me know which exact Dyson model you have, and whether the vacuum has suction power from the hose, whether the brushes turn when set to the carpet setting, and how old the vacuum is. I'd be happy to try and further diagnosis the problem with you.

I hope that this was helpful to you. If it helped you, please be sure to rate the repair as helpful by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top right hand corner.

Thank you very much,

Chris J.

Bissell ProHeat 2X(9200) hose to cleaner solution no suction

There are a couple areas to check:
1. The black gasket where clearview water collecting unit and the base's front meet. Ensure gasket is in good condition.
2. Check if you're getting sufficient suction: remove the water collecting unit. When you turn on the the unit, you'll feel suction out of a black hose pointing upwards next to the grey dial. If you're not getting sufficient suction you need to check that all the gaskets are seated properly. there are 3 gaskets: (1) an orange one seated between the black hose and the base unit (2 and 3): On the bottom of the unit there is a removeable panel. This panel has a gasket (red) and inside there is a white gasket.

Hoover Savvy has limited suction when cleaning the floor and carpet

With the unit standing upright, double check the clear plastic air passages on the sides of the vacumn to see if they are clogged.

Suction only works using the hand held mode, there is no suction when try to use on carpet mode,

There must be a clog in either the hose, dirt inland by the brush roll, or bad filters. If you have suction at the end of the hose, then look lower all the way to the brush roll.
