Minn Kota 80lb 24V Trolling Motor

I was using the motor yesterday and I hit the foot switch and it went on and then just 'quit'. I tried the Constant Switch..nothing....kept trying the foot switch..nothing. I pulled the motor up and motored back to the dock.

I hit the switch with the motor locked in mount..and it was working...I went back into lake and let the trolling motor down....it started working fine...then all the sudden it was like it went to 12v instead of 24v......then it quit all together.......raised it back up into mount...lowered it back down and it was working again..same scenario........

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.....

I have 74lb 24v minn kota trolling motor when in run 8 just quicks, let it set for a for minute and it will run and then shuts down again over time run time gets less. As time goes on it starts to affect lower amp settings also. I have new batteries, clean all connections at circuit breaker.

I also have the same problem.... It is a 24 volt system and when I run it consistantly for a few min. it will quit working, but I can switch it too 12volt and it will work. I wait a few min. and then it begins working again. Help!

I had the same problem and found the oring/seal had let water into the motor. I believe it overheats or draws too many amps when wet? New seals fixed mine but I had to replace the bearing because it had been doing this for a while and the bearing had rusted out.

Does not run. Where can I find fuse schematic #240

A circuit breaker is recommended but not included. Do you have a circuit breaker? If there is a fuse it should be inline with the battery wire.

I have a 24v pd2 70ib thrust trolling motor. What size batteries do I need

Hello there:
the 24v tells you that you need 24 volts ok so what you will need to do is to get 2 12 volt batteries and put them in series than run this to the motor this is usually done with a disconnect switch in the line with your start switch ok? you can also contact the manufacture of the motor for further details
Hope this is very helpful
Best regards Michael

Built in transducer is not picking up/transferring depth to graph

I havew a Minn Kota trolling motor on a Z21 Ranger. Minn Kota has a built in (puck type) transducer on the motor. I have a lowrance 135x on the front. The lowrance will read the temp but will blink the depth. I switched out the depth finder with another 135x with the same results. I have a 522c gps unit networked together and mounted on the console that works fine. Any suggestions on the problem with the 135x?

Minn Kota 24v auto pilot. will track correctly

Usually this means that there is a crack in the coil cord or there is something metal close to the head of the motor.
The coil cord can be checked while you are out fishing next time by grabbing the cord (black coiled cord from base to head of the motor) and stretching it and pulling on it. If the motor reacts to the pulling then that's the problem.
best of luck!

Minn Kota Maxxum Trolling Motor

I had the same problems with my 70lb, my motor just quit while on the lake, took it to a minn kota service repair shop. I had two issues. One was the little magnet under the button on the foot pedal got recessed to far down, the tech told me if it happened again pop the button off and pull the magnet up some. Simple fix. I took it home put it back on the boat and nothing just a slight ticking noise heard from the pedal with no prop movement. So I thought maybe somethin was wrong with one of my batteries. Unhooked everything, tested both of them, all good. Even though there was hardly any corrosion, I clean everything, hooked it up and "WALLA"! Power! Problem solved, for now. Waitng to test again out on the lake

The Minn Kota trolling motor does not come on (when stepping on the switch we hear a relay kick in but no motor. The directional system is working when activated. Battery tests good.

I have the same problem with a 765mx 36 thrust. I am going to check the power going to the motor with a meter. I think it may be the PC board has gone bad. I will write back with my findings

Minn Kota tolling motor

Reverse the polarity on the trolling motor by taking the trolling motor apart and turning ithe motor housingt 180 degrees and bolt it back up. The polarity will be straight then. I did the same thing when I pulled the armature back in.
