There are several possibilities. Most likely is a bad valve. Unplug the machine. Is the water still running? Valve is bad. Replace it.

If the water shuts off, the timer is malfunctioning.

Maytag top loadind washer. Won't stop filling up.

Make sure your drain hose to the drain pipe is higher than the water in the tub if not it will keep running and going out the drain.
Also try taking the hose off the level switch and blow in it to be sure it's not stoped up. If is it won't let the level sw cut off. air should go through it. Good luck
When you unpluged the power and it ddn't keep runing the water valve should be ok.

Water keep runing into the machine and exceed the required level setting. the machine will not start to washing is it that the water level in to high or does the water level setting control the washing...

put the washer on warm setting, start to fill washer, turn washer off,if it still keeps filling then you have a bad water inlet valve,if it turns off then check the water level hose from the head of the washer to the side of the outer tub, make sure both ends are on-mike

When the dishwasher finishes runing complete cycle there is water in the bottom that will not drain out

if the amt of water exceeds 2-3 cups, you may have a drain restriction, usually plumbing related. if the water left over is no more than a cup or so this is normal to keep motor sump area saturized to prevent dry rotting of seals

This dosn't Happon on Normal cycle

Your drain hose is too far down the drain standpipe, or the standpipe is too short. Either one will cause the water to siphon out of the machine. Pull the drain hose all the way out of the drain and insert no more than 6" of hose into the drain. Secure the drain hose to the fill hoses using a plastic tie wrap or similar item to prevent drain water pressure from knocking the hose out of the drain.
