I have the exact same problem and it started on June 8th, the same day as the previous post. Are there any known fixes?

  • Anonymous Jun 30, 2008

This started happening to my phone on June 28th it was trying to HotSync when it was not conneted to my computer. I removed the battery and reinstalled it and the color blocks showed up. I have not done a hard reset because I can't get the phone to get pass the color blocks. I am taking the phone into a sprint store today. Will post to let you know what happens.

This is crazy I dont even have a memory card inserted how is this a memory problem?

  • Anonymous Feb 01, 2009

I am having the exact same problem, and also have no memory card in the phone. Perhaps there is a whole batch of defective phones? I will take mine into the Verizon store tomorrow to see what they say. I can not figure out what triggered the hot sync issue to begin with.

This happend to me about a month ago, right after this, it went into the hotsync problem. where it would try to connect to hotsyc using the cradle, even though it was not connected. and I basically had no use of my phone unless I actually had it connected to the computer, but asuming that I wasnt going to be able to carry my computer in my purse, there was no way I would be able to use it. after battling it out with support tech from verizon, and the store, palm finally said it was a bad phone and put it on the system that i needed a replacement. so verizon had to honor that. well 5 days later i recieved my new refurbished phone. which was working fine until about 4pm yesterday. I am getting no audio from incoming and outgoing calls, the speakers do work because I can hear audio from videos and ringtones fine. so after the drama of hard reseting again, verizon said that it was a bad phone, and I will be getting refurbished phone #2 with in the next few days.  oh and anyone having this problem, after reading like a hundred forums, i came to find out that the connector for the usb port is very sensitive, any kind of moister, for water damage, to even having it in the restroom as you shower, can cause it to get a short in the port that it gives it enough of a charge that it's trying to start up hot sync. however the colored block problem also has to do with your memory card, but same thing, the ports are shorting out just enough to cause somekind of a malfunction. hope this helps

Finally found this solution! It is a connection issue at the bottom of the phone where you would plug in the cable to hotsync your phone.

Put in your hotsync cable and wiggle it around really good and it will fix the issue. Do this with the battery out and then pop it in until you have fixed the issue. Took me a few tries as I was worried about how hard to do it, but no problem!

Phone frozen: The screen just shows boxes of red, green, blue and white.

Just had the same problem. When you take the battery out, leave it out for 4-5 minutes. Then when you put it in and reset while holding the on/off red button, it should start. Mind did. Good luck.

Dialing on 755p

Ok theres two ways to do this, heres 1 way: press menu while you our on the phone display (the button to the right of alt) use the 5 way navigator to move to the right, scroll down to phone display options. Below the Show Dial Pad/ Show Wallpaper, you'll see where it says typing dials phone number change that to typing starts contact search. This will permanently make it liek your old treo. If you wanna dial numbers press the white button to thte left of z and start dialing the numbers.

Version 2: If you dial normally it will dial numbers, if you press th white button to the left of z then type contact name also works.

hopes this help

Hard reset

Remove the battery. Then, hold down the red button while reinserting the battery until it comes back up. Let go of the red button and it will prompt you to see if you really want to erase all data and go back to default.
