HD Ready means it has the built in plug in for a adapter in which must be purchased by itself. You can get this at Best Buy its called HD Receiver Box.

HD Built in means that itis equiped with the device inside eliminating tou having to buy the plug in. You just turn on and follow the directions to turn it on.

HD ready gives you nothing for HD unless you buy the adapter. After all this unit has the best sound and settings availabe then any standard unit does.

I rate the HD Ready Players an 8.0 out of 10.0................Because the plug in is seprate and will cost you $59.99

I rate the HD Built In Players an 10.0 out of 10.0.............Because the HDisBuilt in and ready to go nothing extra to buy.

Hd ready means you need an optional adapter to recieve HD radio broadcasts (digital reception will be without static, and often have sidebands extra music on the same channel) provided there are broadcasters in your area transmitting HD signals most major cities have many HD providers. And many smaller areas now too.

How do I display the radio ID number, so that I can listen to Satellite radio?

Verify if the radio is "Satellite ready" or if it comes with the remote tuner unit. I believe you have to buy a separate tuner add-on and antenna in order to activate the satellite circuitry - THEN it will show you a radio ID. I think ONLY the Alpine comes with the tuner. I would call Crutchfield and they can tell you what all you need with that tuner to make it work with the satellite radio.

How do i find the sirius id on the panasonic cq-hr1003u?

The radio does not have a Sirius ID - it is not built in. THe CQ-HR1003u is Sirius READY - meaning... The CQ-HR1003U can control an optional Sirius Satellite Radio tuner by Panasonic (item #133SRT100).

In addition to the Sirius tuner, you will need an antenna and subscription in order to receive Sirius Satellite Radio programming.

Thanks!

The radio says it's Satellite ready, but when I hit the search button I do not get a Satellite option. When I called Sirius/XM to switch service from one car to another, they said that I must now also...

No it is satellite ready, meaning you need to add atuner to the stereo, but you can use the stereo to control the tuner. Again, a seperate tuner will need to be bought and installed. Good Luck.

Cant figure out how to turn on hd radio

Most likely, you need to buy an HD Tuner kit. I had the same problem, and after some research, found that "HD Ready" apparently means "buy more equipment". Nice...right?

Satellite Radio

Yes, but it will require a tuner adapter so that your deck will properly recognize XM. However for my deck I noticed that "Sirius" will still be displayed as the satilite provider on the display menu. Confusing but don't cause much concern.

Jensen MSR4050G Sirius Ready marine radio

I had the same problem and there are a couple of reason why you may not be able to get into Sirius Mode.

  1. You have the wrong type of antenna (it must be a Sirius approved antenna)
  2. You may not have installed the tuner (most Sirius ready units need require that you have a tuner hooked up to your unit to get satellite reception. The tuners are specific to your unit, so make sure you but the correct one. This is quite sneaky on Sirius’ part…but good luck).

If you have a vehicle that can fit a 'double-din' sized radio, I would suggest the Pioneer AVH-P4000...$500 without the extras. Easy to add an i-pod cable, has back-up video hookup. Also bluetooth ready as has capability for satellite, hd radio, and tv tuner if you ever wanted to add them.

Hd ready?

Yes , you need the HD tuner module that connects thru a din cord in the back of the radio. When a device says it is "HD ready" that means that it does not have it, but it can be connected and then used. Always look for that little tell-tale of being "ready". That is the give-away as to if it has it now, or it is only ready for it, meaning that it is compatible.
